Add-on trunk woofer

The 1st owner, I'm pretty sure, had an aftermarket trunk woofer but removed before he sold it. There is large gauge red wire + a small black wire w/ audio jack that I found tucked under the trunk floor. If this is woofer wire, I want to put one back in. I've thought about a JL Audio (~$800- too 'spensive), an after market box-style, or a Ford oem from Ebay.
Any recommendations?

That's what I use, and fits like a glove. $280 for the box with no subwoofer. Only downside is that it's heavy (27 lbs), as the box is made out of mdf. But overall, it's not too bad, and it's weight on the rear.

I added a OEM and AudioDesign subwoofer.

I got hold of a sealed box JL W3 that mounts against the back seat and fires to the rear. A lot of other similar set ups out there with the amp embedded. Great sound and can be easily removed for storage or to transfer to your next vehicle.

I don't use my trunk for anything...so I have 1 12" Sundown, box built for it with color matching plexiglass with a JL1000 mono amp.
