trunk key stopped working

I am hoping the locksmith would have access to such a tool, I do not.

If you have a wire hanger, bend the “arms” so it looks like a long hook. If that’s not long enough, tape it to a broom handle

And bend the hook part of the hanger so it’s small enough that it will grab the emergency release

Seems you got it open last time though - are you turning the key far enough to pop it from the interior location. At the back seat?

Has this problem come up since the accident? A real stretch but maybe a connector or some such came loose.

Yes for the mechanical connection, no for the electrical connection.

Bring it in to the dealership

Took the seat completely out. About a 1 foot tall access all the way across. Pulled cable opened trunk.
The key switch took it apart part of it was worn so I use it without the outside part. It doesn't look as good but it will open the trunk for now until I look at the wires.

Found 3 broken wires. Fixed them temporary until I get the proper size wires. Trunk operates normally. What wires did you guys use to fix it? How about a loom? Oh yeah rear camera still not working.

Fixed the 3 broken wires. Trunk working properly. The repair looks great.
