So as the title states I am having trouble removing the A pillar in an attempt to hard wire my dash cam. I pulled on it and got the top portion off but the bottom portion closest to the windshield would not come off. I did not want to pull too hard for fear of breaking something. Is there something I should be doing to make this easier? Also, I went to go put it back on and it popped back in except for the very top portion. I can see that the clips look lined up but again it's not popping in. I am horrible with this stuff and can use all the help I can get.

Also, can I use one of these to ground a wire? Would I just loosen the bolt and wrap the wire I need grounded around the bolt? I have never grounded something before and normally I do not mess with wiring.

So can anyone tell me how to ground an exposed wire to the chassis? I have zero clue how to do this. I think this is what is making my dash cam currently not work. I crimped the wire and put the fuse tap in fuse 36. Any help would be awesome. Thanks.

Crimp an end to the wire and then put it on one of those bolts.

I'm trying to use the bolt underneath the glove box. I have very little exposed wire and no eyelet. From what I understand that's the bolt I want to use and it can be done without an eyelet. I'm just not good with wires at all

Strip some insulation on your ground to get more exposed wire if you can. Wrap the exposed wire around a bolt attached to the chassis and bolt it in to secure it. I set up my dash cam the exact same way with fuse 36. I used a different bolt for ground that was easier to access for me (the one directly below the glovebox), but any bolt on the chassis should be fine.

The a-pillar trim is completely removable. There are more clips at the bottom, but nothing is screwed or bolted in. You do have to disconnect the wire that is running to the tweeter speaker on the a-pillar.

#1 Find an existing bolt / screw into metal, and remove it and put your wite on that bolt / screw and re install.

or

#2 Use a self taping screw and create a new ground.

Obviously #1 is preferred to number to when possible.
