What are you talking about? If you have a PP1, just put the same 275 tire on all 4 corners.

I don't want to put 275's on the front 9" rims.

Ya 275 is barely visible as pinched. You have to look pretty hard to even notice, even with the 275/9.5s and 275/9" wheels side by side.

40's will have more bulge. Plus I don't want to start mix matching.

My car is pretty firm already. FRTP suspension. I'm afraid 35"s might hit too hard. While you might be okay on the track, the street is bumpy. If you've read my other post's you'll see I barely got it compliant enough for the street by getting rid of the FRTP rear sway. So I'm right on the edge as far as being too firm. 35's may put me over the top. However, I will keep an open mind.

My 2 cents, I agree with the previous post to just put the same 275/40 on all 4 rims. There won't be enough difference with just a 1/2" narrower rim to really see it or feel it. A 40 ratio tire shouldn't bulge any more than a 35 all else being equal.

Actually, it will be less. Look at the manufacturer recommendations. As the side wall gets taller, the minimum recommended wheel width tends to get narrower.

Public roads, surface is different road to road, or even parts of the same road/ highway.
I think you are over thinking this a ton for a street ride.
Track/event only, use tires, sure be pickier.
New pavement, old work pavement, what the base was made with, concrete, etc are all part of driving on the street.
Today unless you buy garbage tire, the public roadways surface is the limiting factor, not the tires persay.
Roads are mostly not maintained and dirty.
Again, I think you are over thinking this.
