Or does anyone else do it? Closest station is about 40-45 minutes away, this was my first refill so i topped the car off and took 2 5 gallons jugs home w/ me in the trunk.

Sure itā€™s safe. Thatā€™s how youā€™d load a gas can to get it home right? Iā€™d recommend securing it so it doesnā€™t spill but yea its safe.

I'd say it depends on your definition of safe.
Is it as safe as the fuel in the tank? No, I'd think not. Is it safer than transporting in glass jars? Probably.
If it were to spill it would be dangerous. If you were rear ended it would be dangerous.
What precautions are you taking for the "what ifs"?

Personally I hate transporting fuel of any kind inside a vehicle. I'll do it if there's no other choice but I don't like it.
I also don't store fuel in my house or garage.

Shouldn't be any issue with that. But yea, definitely strap them down lol

Man that sucks! Iā€™ll be moving to Florida this year and Iā€˜m tuned for E85 Flex and Race. I was under the impression that E85 gas stations were a dime a dozen down there. Looks like Iā€™ll be having to make similar drives to get my E85. When I run nitrous, Iā€™m going to use One Ethanol (will have to order by the pail).

Yea I moved here from Jersey last year and was under the same impression, depending on where your going you should be alright. I'm in between Sarasota and Ft. Myers which both have plenty of stations w/ E. I seriously think my County is the only one in Florida that doesnt lmao.

Looks like she sprung a pretty good leak in her fuel bladder. Not to mention she just ruined the inside of her car with that ridiculous move. SMDH

I have five 3 gallon VP jugs (they hold 4 gallons each easily) that I use to fill up and store at the house for top offs. I like this size as they can be stored in their upright position when transported and are easier to handle when filling the car with them. When driving the car on a longer trip I will take a couple and secure them for ā€˜just in case no stationsā€™ filling.

I also have four 12 gallon jugs that are carried on the trailer when going to track.
