guys, I need some opinions. i'm gonna head to the dealership in December after the dust clears from the new 2015 stang & pick or order one myself. my question is, should I trade in my 2012 5.0 or keep it. it's been paid for, for over a year and other than the Roush Stage III on it, it's a bone stock GT premium. I've kept it pretty much in "show room" shape & i'm torn whether to let it go or keep it. So,what would you guys do? thanks for any opinions.

If it's not costing you much to keep and you really love car, then I would keep it. Otherwise it would make for a really nice down payment on the new one.

IMO honestly, if I already owned a 2011-14 5.0 I probably wouldn't be getting the s550 this year. Not enough is improved (Yet) for me to be able to make that decision. However you seem pretty bent on getting one as it seems it fits your wants and desires. My suggestion to you is the same as Mike's, either trade it in or sell it and get something Economical...or a truck :D. Unless you plan on keeping it forever, it is best to get rid of it, as it's only going to continue to depreciate more and more. However if it were a Boss, I could understand wanting to keep it.

I see no reason to keep it. It will not hold any real value down the road and as others have said, you can buy a more economical second car for the winter and commuting, etc. I have 2011 GT 5.0 and I love it, but I am trading it in for my 2015.

IMO you should first checkout what you could get if you sell it. For example my dealer said he could not give me more than $5,000 for my 2005 V6 convertible with 25,000 miles on it in showroom look. 2 days later I sold it for $11,000 cash to a guy who liked it to buy for his daughter. Keeping as second Mustang? I don't know. How many cars to you like to keep? Someone wrote already: "Do you really like to jump on the 2015 or wait for the 2016? I mean your car is paid off and NO-Payments on a car are still the best you can get.

I'd keep the 2012 as a toy/weekend car, and then if you were still wanting a 2015 I'd look at an ecoboost premium as a daily. Having two 5.0L cars doesn't seem very practical, but whatever floats your boat.

I would keep the 12 as the weekend car, and either get an EB for an economical daily driver, or something like a Honda Accord Sport to drive every day for improved economy. Lol at 'only a Roush Stage III, other than that it's stock'. That's a pretty mean car. I agree owning 2 5.0s would be stupid. With a car like the '12, it's much easier for you to wait than, say, this schmuck with a 2000 Accord beater waiting for the right price :)

Go the private party route. I tried to trade in my 08 gt and was offered only 12,000 trade in. I ended up getting 16,000 private party route. Actually got shipped to new zealand.

Frankly, if I already had a Gt, I'm not sure I'd bother with the '15. I could see if you were going after a LE, but not anything else. See what they have up their sleeve for '16 as well as let them get the kinks sorted out. If you don't like what they have up their sleeve, find a end of production '15 with rebates.
