I sold my 2009 GTI already and bought a junker to drive until my new pony comes in. I'm hoping to sell the junker for the same as I paid.

Check your state laws, here, if I sell and then buy new within 30 days(I think it's 30, may be 90) I can still get the tax difference off.

Is the private party value that they'd buy at on the lower end of the spectrum or higher..? I'd imagine it'd have to be on the low end. I just saw that the dealer I ordered from will buy your car from you also. My guess is that they wouldn't give me any more than if it were traded.
I'll let you know what I get for my 2013 v6 premium in a couple of weeks. I was told I'll either get good or excellent based off what I told my friend (sales rep) about my car.

I've had two people call about the Camaro and ask some questions. So far 1,210 views on eBay and 20 people watching..

Got a possible buyer. I'm supposed to get an answer from them today. We'll see...

Listed my 05 Vert on CL and have had two low ball offers. Thinking I'm just going to trade it. The GM at the dealership likes it and might buy it once it is traded to them. At-least it would go to a good home.

Dealer offered me $9K on low mileage 2008 Miata trade in. Didn't look forward to selling privately but figured if my price was met it was worth it. Advertised and had no dickering offer within 24 hours for $6K more than trade in, easily making it worthwhile even with the tax saving. Worst case is you don't get your price and you trade in. Pretty easy decision. Took a total of 2 hours of my time to show and tell plus transfer title.

I had a similar experience with a local dealer on my 2009 V6 coupe (~44000 miles). I ended up selling mine on cargurus.com for about $4K over the dealer's best offer and a shade over KBB. To me, it was easier than dealing with CL, and sold in about a week.
