People can preach turbos all day long, but you have to babysit them and constantly with tweaks and monitor to ensure you dont grenade that little motor. Just my 2 cents, but living without turbo lag is amazing!
you don't have to babysit the turbo but monitor yes...just like you monitor other parts of the engine/car. Living without turbo lag is fine but NA you've got a linear powerband, you wont get that snap your neck like you can with a turbo when boost starts to kick in hard.

oh and get 34-37 mpg not like the 25 mpg from the gt :) and the price at the pump is going up these days. my insurance full coverage is also $60 a month...not happening with a gt.

No way would I go from a premium to a base interior period. That would be a big downgrade on the interior for the upgrade on the powertrain. That evens out in my opinion. That "upgrade" is going to cost you nearly 10k after you re register the car, repay some more taxes, get hosed on trade in, and pay the price difference to upgrade. Your car is awesome as it sits. I was driving mine earlier and I can't imagine what's going through someones head to think they'd take a huge loss on this beauty of a car for something with a little more horsepower and a 5.0 badge on the side.

Also this is exactly why I'm not modding anymore. Once it starts it never stops. Also dat powertrain warranty.

Oh ya! The gt will snap your neck! Every time you touch the long pedal

You consider 125 more horsepower a little more?!

The base interior would be a downgrade but isn't that bad in the 15' compared to past stangs.

It's really not that much of speed upgrade going from a modded ecoboost. There are a ton of modded EBs running stock GT times now. I'm fairly confident I could run high 12s with good air right now. fwiw I test drove a 2015 5.0 and was not impressed for all the hype

I tried to trade my loaded out the ass Premium PP auto EB. The car was 3 months old and had 5,000 miles. Nobody would give me more than $28,000 for it. That is an over $8,000 loss in 3 months. Needless to say, I am still driving it. I would love it with about 500 RWHP. I hate it now.

There is more potential though with the 5.0 especially if you go forced induction. If you are going to run the car at the track I could see the reasoning for this. Quite honestly though for street driving I don't see the need. Once you get 0-60 around 5sec that is plenty at least for me. All preference though and depends on what you want out of the car.

You will very likely get less if you trade it in than you would if it was stock. If you pull everything off to sell the parts used expect 50 cents on the dollar for them and still take a big hit on the trade.

I personally wouldn't trade for a car with less content to get more power, especially if the primary purpose of the car is a daily driver.

Why are you hating it now? I remember you running really good times with your 3.31 GT. How come you didn't go with the 15' GT?

Interesting the EcoBoost isn't holding value. My friend already traded his base 15' 5.0 for another 15' 5.0 with the features he wanted. He ended up getting 30k for his trade which was a few $100 more than he paid for it initially! He also got a sick deal on the 2nd 15'.

It has nothing to do with the ecoboost not holding value

The only thing i would switch or trade for a GT would be for the sound of the V8. I can't stand the sound of these EB with an after market exhuast. For me to trade with all of the options i have on the EB to the same options on the GT would be way too much $$$ not to mention more money in gas, insurance and getting beat up on a trade in. No thanks.

I wasn't implying that he was hating due to the value loss.
That's not what I'm saying. I'm saying the loss in value after 5,000 miles has nothing to do with the fact that it was an EB and much more to do with mileage and options. If you were to trade in a $37K GT premium right now with 5K miles they wouldn't give you any more than $30K

If that's true, what you are saying is that the premium package itself has horrible resale value.
I've changed my mind on trading but I was offered $29k for my base gt with 4000 miles on it at a Ford dealer a few weeks ago. I paid $29k 6 months ago...
