just an opinion poll, i currently have a ecoboost prem almost fully loaded with recaros, ive currently spent around $4k on mods (radar, visual, performance parts), i was thinking of adding a turbo kit from MAP or FFTEC down the road which will add another $5000 with install, at this point i will be around at 9k, im hoping to get feedback from the mustang community whether I trade my car in take a L get a Base PP GT with Recaros, or keep modding the shit out of it full bolt-on turbo kit.

Yes Gas will suck and yes insu prem will increase (which im ok )

The base is much nicer than previous generations, but having sat in both I wouldn't personally like having a base knowing how much nicer it could be. How about option 3? Stop modding the car now, save the money on the side and buy a used low mileage GT350 in a few years?

Yeah, they are limited, but as long as you aren't trying to buy brand new that shouldn't be an issue.

well you are going to loose a nice chunk of money trading in even tho its a new car and wont make back as much on the mods if you take the ones off you can and sell them.

I would go get the new corvette if I had the income lol. dude next to our work has one and its just nasty.

Trade it! Come to the dark side! Gas isnt that bad. The wife sees about 25mpg hwy.

You wouldnt be the first to reconsider and want to trade up. Just of what ive seen you would be number 6 or 7

Do you really think you won't mod a GT? There goes any perceived money "saved". Mustangs are meant to be modded.

I also refuse to have a daily without satellite radio or cooled seats so I'm picky.

I've though about this too but I don't see any saving of monies, btwn modding the GT and the extra for the new car. I wouldn't factor that in to making a decision imho.

What do you want? What makes you happy? Is it the rumble of a v8? Is it speed? The Aftermarket turbo's are putting out up to 500 hp to the wheels! Faster then a tuned GT. Maybe even faster than a GT 350. Lighter than a GT.
Also, the Eco with an upgraded turbo will be fairly unique. Lots of GT's with tunes or superchargers.
In terms of premium vs base. That's preference. Cloth seats have less of a need for heating and cooling vs leather. Toggle switch are nice. Not necessary. Heated mirrors, NAV, 8 inch display, 9/12 pc stereo, ambient lighting etc. Up to the individual.
My fav feature is the soft touch door panels!;))

It's mostly psychological imho. If you have a Mustang that handles better and is faster than a GT. Looks just as good. Why does one need a GT? Yes the sound maybe, or poss you want 700hp, but..?

Choose what make you happy. Your preferences and wants. Don't go by a poll of what others prefer.

I def don't need 700hp, one thing to factor is the turbo kit are still in its infant stage, I would be worried about then longevity of my engine

Well that's a fair consideration, but so far these engines have shown to be pretty solid. In any case it would be fixable. No guarantees with the coyote either. Like you said, the turbos are in the infant stage. More testing, better turbos, more data to come. Of course it your comfort level.

My thought is, I get a GT, leaps and bounds are made with the eco and I miss out on having something different and just as fast etc...

btw, love your ruby red with stripes and the foundry wheels. Looks awesome!

Seems like many of us reach that point when we have gone full bolt-ons and we were somehow expecting more for what we've spent. Here's what I ended up FINALLY deciding. I'm not going to take another credit check and start from phase one just because cool v8 sounds brah, think of how many v8s are fast and how many 4cyls are fast LET alone a 4cyl mustang. You will be a sleeper with either of those turbo choices and if you think you'll be bullied or looked down on because "no v8 no penis" BS then shut their mouth by leaving them in the dust with an engine less than half the size of theirs while averaging better while flooring it than what they do cruising the city.

Long story short you really need to know if this is your decision or your surroundings peer pressuring you. Do what makes you happy as well as financially stable, don't go car poor or change cars because of what people say, do it for yourself! You're 4k deep, go big or go home, you're almost there man lol

You sound uneasy about the modded 4. I'd sell it and go Gt if I were you.
Premium to base I couldn't do though.

Love my ecoboost... That being said if you are going to drop 9k into modding it may be a good time to trade in on a GT. Of course sure you will still have the mod bug. That being said your car looks amazing. Think I would be good with it as it is :) I found that I pretty much sit in traffic so the amount of time I would be able to use the extra power in the GT would be rare.
