Read all 4 pages and so far glad to see it has been civil; lots of good points and opinions on it.

I can say after 6 mustangs and every one of them ending up FI the EBM is the most enjoyable one to drive; yes, one can make it XX fast and have fun with it 2-4 times a year at the track but at that point the changes made have made the car almost too much for the street. Upgrading a car to 6-700hp requires suspension work that increases NVH to the point it is not fun/comfortable to drive daily. I have been pleasantly surprised to this point with the handling of the IRS, I don't have to worry about breaking stock half shafts like upgraded GT's do, the EBM is fast enough to handle most cars light to light and for the couple of times a year it see's the track...well....I know it will lose to other cars on the big end but they will have to run me down.

Similar issues and discussions on both EB and 5.0 pages regarding upgrades. It makes me think trading the EB for the Coyote will satisfy folks for a moment but in the end, the quest for more power, handling, etc.... will take over. My 2 cents.....

Ppl are much better off waiting until the car is paid off and trading up once there are some used cars on the market. I'm sure there will be plenty by the time the new Camaro has been out for a couple months

Well honestly, I think a lot of the people trading were early adopters. I know I looked at the very early performance results that were coming out and that swayed my decision.
Yep, I bought in after seeing what Livernois did. As stupid as it may sound, I based my decision largely on their results. I figured this was going to be the hot platform, and I am a turbo nut. It IS a great car. Very comfortable, handles great, nice amenities. It is just slow, or slower than I would prefer.

Think the biggest problem for the ecoboost is everyone compares it to the gt or wants it to be a GT. They should compare it to other cars in its price range. Cars like the BRZ, WRX (not the STI), V6 Camaro. The Ecoboost stacks up very nicely in this group and is easily modded also. Sure more to come also. Car is still very new and they will get more out of it. Hands down the GT has more potential if that is what people want they should buy the GT. For the price the ecoboost is a great value and heck of a fun car to drive. Problem with all these cars as has been said is you always want more power :) Even if you have a GT you will want to mod it!!!

Exactly some people who may used to driving the V8 and get the Ecoboost expect the same power. That's not fair either.

The Ecoboost Mustang is a different kind "muscle car". Most people think a muscle car is only supposed to have a powerful V8 motor under the hood. I think Ford has changed the game with the Ecoboost now.

Compare the full bolt-on EB to full bolt-on FR-s, BRZ, genesis, v6 camaro, even the r/t challenger and it whoops them all and some for much cheaper. EB is not meant to compete with the GT, SS, etc but it sure can beat them as it has the potential to, look at 15svos car with 370 rwhp and 437tq, that'll beat a stock 5.0 and that's full bolt-on with e-30. People who give up on it just want the easy way or what they're used to, or the ones that are easily peer pressured by people who don't matter on the internet to stop being happy about your purchase and get the 5.0

It is a Mustang. I do not compare it to small displacement import cars. I also do not compare it to the GT or the SS, R/T, SRT, etc. I knew exactly what it was going in, I am not some neophyte who thought I was getting a stock V-8 killer. I thought it would be more robust and that it would respond better to mods. Don't get me wrong, I was very happy to be running 12's in basically a stock car with a tune and a tire. However, I looked at Livernois running 11's with basically the same mods and my mind went immediately to 10's. That was where I wanted to be, I wanted a full bolt-on car that would run 10's and be a great sleeper. I was willing to do everything, including a converter, big turbo, suspension etc. Then I figured out that 10's was going to require a built motor, and I really do not want to put a built motor in a brand new car. I own much faster cars than my EB. I just thought I was getting a better platform than it turned out to be. You guys that are coming from imports are likely to be more satisfied with the car.

Wow you had really high expectations expecting to get 10s out of a car that is 13.5 stock. 3 sec in the 1/4mile is a lot of time. Takes quite a few mods to even get a GT in the 10's. I agree I wouldn't want to go through the expense and worries of doing a built motor. If you have desires of hitting 10s you should get a GT and not even think twice about it.

2JZ it ain't. The price shoulda been your first clue.

C'mon man, you just had unrealistic expectations. I come from the big big block and turbo small block (yellowbullet) world too. I have yet to purchase a car because I'm waiting to see where/how development goes. You coulda done the same.

Fun daily w/ more than enough non-drag radial power for the street. More than that, expect a decent outlay of time and money.

I traded my eco/pp/50th ann pack for a base GT with PP/recaros. I missed my old V8 after the honey moon ended with this car. The GT for me is what makes me happy. You need to go with makes you happy. Did not take a huge loss but a loss is a loss you need to shop around if you are serious about it.

It is quite easy to get a GT into the 10's. I got mine in on a 100 shot and bolt ons, shifting it.

I wanted to be on the first wave. I really prefer to be doing it first, before everyone else does it. So, I jumped in quickly thinking there was more there than there is.
