Hello all,

Trading in my 2016 mustang gt to the dealer sometime this week... Offering me a good price on it. I'm trading it in to Chevy and getting a z06.

Do I need to tell the dealer that the car's been tuned? I'm trading it in as is and not parting it off. Only done CAI, Catback Exhaust, Tune and nGauge. They've seen the CAI thats been modified and all they've asked me is if I have all the stock parts. To which I said yes.

Am I doing anything wrong here? Should I swap the CAI and put the stock one on and stock tune and then trade it in?

I'm located in Ontario if it makes any difference.

Just an FYI, having no issues with the car at all. Literally I went to look at a Z06 and they gave me a deal that I thought was a little stupid. Turns out they were serious so I'm going with it now.

Thanks

Why not just change the intake out and remove the nGuage and tune? You don't need a tune for the exhaust so just leave that on. That shouldn't take long at all. I also don't get why you would tell them it's all stock if it wasn't? Don't think about the dealer but the person who may be buying this car later.

There have been a couple of guys on the Corvette Forum who got burned by a unbeknownst to them tuned Z06 they each purchased used. One of them had a problem with the car going into ECO mode and the other had a catastrophic engine failure. Both were denied warranty from GM because a tune was detected.

There's no guarantee that the next owner of your car will ever have a problem where the powertrain warranty will be needed. But they might.

When did I say I told the dealer the car is all stock? I said they seen the CAI meaning they know its not stock. They asked me if I have all my stock parts to which I said yes.

Ah, makes sense. I'm probably just going to switch the CAI and put a stock one on. I went to my dealer and asked them about the tune and warranty thing and they said they don't void it without proving its directly related to the tune.

Which is good I guess.. But anyways.. If anyone wants a Lund nGauge and Airraid CAI pm me :p

Definitely set it back to stock. If the new owner doesn't know it's tuned, and runs it on the wrong gas?

One thing that bothers me is that no one asked you what year Z06 and what color, you know the really important questions.

So did you get your Z06? New or used? Details?

There are some real nice deals on the Z at the moment.
