Track Tires

Hello,

I ordered my tires 3 months ago and was under the impression they were waiting for me. Ordered them from Les Schwab, Goodyear Supercar 3R 275/40/18. Running Apex SM-10 18x10 square.

Was told they are still on order with no ETA. So what would be a good comparable tire under $250. Mainly HPDE on long road courses.

Take a look at what's available on Tirerack.com for their various categories. It's pretty easy to browse there. GY SC3 is categorized as Extreme Performance Summer tire. Looks like Tire Rack has the SC3 in stock, so you may as well try ordering from there.

I see. I just tried Bridgestone RE-71s on autocross and it's an amazing tire, at least compared to my other summer tire (Yokohama SV105), but doesn't look like RE71 is available much anymore. But GY SC3 was going to be my choice if I didn't get the RE-71 first.

Unfortunately (for you) my new set of 285 SC3 and 305 SC3R are in 19" diameter. I've got a slew of Pirelli DH slicks in 18" but shipping x-country wouldn't be economical. Have you tried hitting up IMSA guys for take offs? The other is to get a set of Federal 595RS-Pro or the other preanal favorite Hankook RS4. I've got a used set in 285/18 I could part with... Otherwise Advan AO52 is a go-to tire.

Federal RSR-PRO...a 275/35/19 is like $170 and they do very well for street tires.
