i dont miss losing sleep at night thinking my piston ringlands or rod bearings are gonna blow any moment
LOL. This man knows what's up. I feel like the simple peace of mind from this will be worth the switch!
I went WRX to GT PP as well...couldn't be happier. Although I do kinda miss boost building...a little bit.
Word. Nice to know. January can't get here fast enough!

I'm not gonna lie, it was probably one of the top reasons I bought a new car. The 2015 Brostang just made it easier to decide which car to go with.

I needed a car that has more power in stock form than my modded Subaru, and everything else was just a bonus. There's nothing out there that has more performance for under 33k.

Yeah I don't blame you at all man. Nor, myself. Maybe one day, one Subaru fixes the known issues of the ej257, I'll return. That's a strong maybe tho.

I definitely hear you on that one...but I wasn't pushing as much power as you. 19psi non-e85 tune. I still had my concerns though.

I've almost hit "add to cart" for my tuner and intake combo but I'm waiting to see if there are any motor issues first.

Most cars (no matter the manufacturer) one press of the traction/stability control button turns off the traction/stability 80% of the way, then holding down the button for 3 or 5 seconds fully defeats the stability/traction control. My guess is, if you have a base model Mustang with Performance Package holding the button down to fully defeat the traction/stability puts you into a sport+ mode or something equal to track mode.

The difference between sport+ and track modes is probably very small anyway.
From what Rachel said earlier in the thread (plus info from the manual) we now have a better idea of the differences between the Sport+ and Track modes in the Premium GT versus the modes that are available in the Base GT.

In the Premium model, selecting Sport+ provides ONLY the following changes compared to Normal mode: 1. sportier steering feel, and 2. different throttle response. BUT—with ZERO change to either the Electronic Stability Control OR to the Traction Control; NEITHER IS COMPLETELY DISABLED NOR EVEN REDUCED.

In the Premium model, selecting Track mode provides an extra feature to the above two supplied by Sport+: namely, in Track mode the AdvanceTrac INTERVENTION is REDUCED [BUT NOT COMPLETELY DISABLED].

In the Base model, pressing the Traction Control button twice rapidly will provide that same extra feature that the Track mode provides in the Premium model, namely, Electronic Stability Control AND Traction Control are both REDUCED [BUT NEITHER IS COMPLETELY DISABLED]. And since steering feel can be independently selected at any time, the only performance mode feature provided in the Premium model that's absent in the Base model is the change in throttle response (but as has previously been noted, one's right foot can manage throttle control pretty well as is).

In the Base model, there is one other performance option that is apparently NOT available in the Premium model: namely, pressing and holding the Traction Control button for >5 seconds will not merely REDUCE but COMPLETELY DISABLE the AdvanceTrac nanny interventions—BOTH THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL AND THE TRACTION CONTROL.

So then—it appears that Ford has indeed thoughtfully provided owners of the Base GT + PP with sufficient selectable performance modes to satisfy those who wish to engage in what Ford calls spirited driving.

It seems I was not completely correct in my reply above: The manual specifically says [p. 145] that in those vehicles which have selectable drive modes—namely, the Premium models with the toggle switches—selecting Track mode will, as I've said, REDUCE—but not disable the AdvanceTrac intervention.

Nevertheless: "in all of the selectable drive modes you can DISABLE traction control and AdvanceTrac with the AdvanceTrac switch."

Presumably, this means disabling not just the Traction Control but also the Electronic Stability Control; however, the manual does not specifically say this for the vehicles with selectable drive modes, while it does specifically say so for those vehicles with just the Traction Control button.

OK, so the question I have is for base GT w/PP..... The five second hold displays Advance Trac off. And the 2 tap puts Advance Trac in Sport and displays. But is traction control automatically disabled with either setting? It never shows a confirmation on screen info. I'd assume so, but figured I'd ask here if reps are viewing the thread.

Here's my breakdown of the difference between the Premium package toggles in the test drive car I drove and my base GT. The toggles have the same functions for Hazard, Steering Feel and Traction Control as the black buttons on the base. The difference is the "mode" switch combines two of those things plus increase throttle rev points with one flick of a switch. On my base GT I can turn off traction control, switch to sport steering, and move shifter to "S" and gear down to create the same throttle effect, but the Sport+ Mode does it while still shifting automatically and with just a one step process. Since I can still downshift without moving to "S" it is all nearly the same to me. The toggles do look cool and I wish they were an easy option add on, but I can live with mine the way it is, driving normal 90% anyway.

Mine seems to run better with Advancetrac fully disabled/defeated.
