I’ve always ran 93 octane but headed to a track that only has 91 ethanol free and 110. Are either of these OK or should I just fill my jugs up with 93 before I go?

You'd more than likely be better off with 110. Especially with how hot it is in the summer right now, you'd want the most knock prevention.

Is the 110 unleaded?

I'd run a mix of 91 and the 110 just to get the octane up a bit higher.
Yes it’s unleaded and the car is completely stock. That sounds like a good plan. Maybe I’ll just fill up with 110 between every session and not let it get too low so it’s always mixing with the 93. Wasn’t sure if it was ok to run 110. Thanks

It could actually make less hp If the engine management maxs out. A mix might be better.

If you run the 110, you will get some more HP, not a lot, but there will be a difference. The issue is cost. Race gas is very expensive, but then again, it is an expensive hobby......

If you don't care about cost, just run the 110, otherwise go with the suggestion of mixing it to boost the octane a bit.

$12/gal which I’m not worried about. I’ll just fill up with 110 between each session just wanted to make sure there were no negative effects. Didn’t think there would be as long as it’s unleaded. Thanks

The 110 probably has a high ethanol and/or oxygen content, so I’d still mix the 110 with 91 ethanol free to keep the overall E and oxygen down a bit. If you’re not tuned for E or have a flex tune it may not flow enough fuel. What is the brand and model of the 110 so you can look at what it has in it to make a more informed decision?

I used race gas in my R a while back. No issues. Definitely felt like it had more HP. But I have to ask, what's the point? If there was a large breasted woman with big tits handing you a check for $30K at the end (to the winner), I would be looking for any competative edge I could. However, it sounds like a good 'ol fashioned track day. Mix it and bring the overall octane up.

FWIW, I run in the pro group running 93 all day long. The car is fast as hell. The only problem is fuel management..... The car runs out of gas driving flat out.

I would like to run 93 but that’s not available at the track so I’m stuck between the 91 and 110 unless I take my gas cans.

Isn't the factory stock tuning set to 91 octane to begin with? I don't think that you would see any gains going with 110, nor any loss with 91.

I'd be very cautious with running straight 110 without knowing the stoich impact. The PCM can adjust, but it has limits to how much fuel it can add to the trims.

I'd mix a little 110 in the 91 or slug the 93 along with you.

While the 110 will obviously have much better knock resistance, it won't help matters if you're running lean because it's maxed out at +20% fuel and it's still not enough to get to desired A/F

I would use at least 93. Don't worry about the fuel trims unless it is labeled as alcohol fuel. I use higher octane when on a track just for the added knock protection. I think your idea of starting out with 93 and adding 110 as needed is a good idea.

I see you are in Louisville, what track are you going to?

I wish they had finished Bluegrass

I don't think he's necessarily looking for power, just more overall knock protection.

Long summer trackdays the engine gets HOT so good octane is a must, 91 is kinda pushing it.
