I started tracking my 2019 Bullitt this year (4 days so far). It is a lot of fun and I've seen my driving improve significantly over the past 7 months. However, I am finding a couple of issues with the car. These issues typically show up during the 2nd & 3rd sessions.

The first issue is that the auto rev matching stops working. It always happens on a 3 - 2 downshift typically after hard accelleration and then threshhold breaking. If I don't catch it quickly the wheels trying to suddenly try to pull the engine revs back up can cause the car to get a little sideways. I think this is a heat issues, but have no idea where to start troubleshooting it.

Second issue: After coming off the track from a session and shutting off the engine, if I try to restart it shortly thereafter the car will chug once and stop. It acts like the battery is dying. It always starts on the 2nd try. If I don't try to restart it until after I have let it cool down with the hood open, the car will start like normal.

Anybody out there have similar issues? Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot/solve these issues?

I found that the rev match stops when I get a clutch pressure switch code B circuit low. Clutch still works but I also get a little lock out on high revs. So something which the clutch, and I don't know what is actually wrong. Does anyone know?

My 2018 GT doesn’t have rev match so I can’t comment on that.

… if I try to restart it shortly thereafter the car will chug once and stop.
I get the same on a hot track day after pushing the car pretty hard after a good session. Everything is just way too hot: the battery, the block, the heads, the oil, the water, the intake air temperature, etc.

Try to get a really good cool-down lap, pop the hood after you park it, then give her time to cool down before starting again. At MSR Cresson and ECR in Texas I’ll sometimes leave the track, take my car down the road to get a better cool down.

OEM - all stock as came on the car - no mods.

I don't generally do a cool down lap, but it is not unusual to slow down on the last lap due to others doing cool down. I'll pop the hood too and then it will be fine.

My temp gauges are not showing excessive heat (engine, trans, diff all seem fine but I cannot quote you on the actual temperatures. I'll make a note to record them next time. Since the behavior is like a dying battery, I wouldn't at all be surprised if the battery was overheating. If so, what's a better battery for hotter temperatures?

I have absolutely no idea what battery would be better in that condition.

My thought is that the car just needs to cool down. Anything you can do to allow it to get back to a normal temperature is the goal. Do a cool down lap, drive down the road, or just park it pop the hood and don’t try to start it till your next session.

Sounds like you’re really getting the most out of your Bullitt! The auto rev matching issue on 3→2 downshifts after hard accel/threshold braking is likely heat related possibly the clutch pedal sensor, transmission temp sensor, or TCU acting up when things get hot. Tracking transmission temps and checking OBD II codes after sessions can help pinpoint it. The hard start after shutdown sounds like classic heat soak affecting the starter or ignition; adding heat shielding or letting things cool slightly usually fixes it. Both issues are fairly common on the 2019 Bullitt when pushed hard on track.

The starter is the reason it won't start. Super common problem on these cars. Stock starters don't hold up to the heat. Your best bet is a PowerMaster.

Most of your temps and pressures are inferred. So your temps, while probably accurate, are not reading from an actual sensor in the oil for example.

ECR is a really fun track in these cars, especially in stock trim. Now just get it to CotA!

I'll have to bring my OBDII reader to the track next time!

My car had that rev-match problem, it also put the car into a limp mode where it wouldn't rev past 2k or change any drive modes.

Issue was that it needed a new Clutch position Sensor.

I bet that ruined your day. Thankfully, I haven't had this problem.
