For those of you saying 'turning this off is a mistake' you are missing the point completely. This is not intended for street driving.

Over at a Focus forum one of the ST owners took his car to a track day event. He turned "Advancetrac" off but not the IVD Stability Control. After just a few laps he toasted his brakes beyond use.

If a Mustang owner is going to drive hot laps on a track the system needs to be shut off to prevent the brakes from being engaged in every corner.

I'm not an expert, and I have not tracked my '15 GTPP yet, but what wildsailor is saying is exactly what I understand and have read in preparing for the track.

Just turn all the things off every now and then to get a feel. It's quite lovely.

Can anyone else confirm this?

Those explanations were very clear.
Yes.

This is what ESC does to rear rotors.

Yes, I have a base GT PP and I can confirm what ecolulz said.
Default = AdvancTrac on (Traction Control on + Stability Control on).
Single tap = "Traction Control Off"
Double Tap = "AdvancTrac Sport Mode"
Press & hold = "AdvancTrac off"

Just single tap it once at any non-Default setting to go back to the Default.

It's a little goofy and confusing, but it works. I'll have to admit, the Premium toggle switches would be a little easier to digest.
Thanks... Its not the activation or how to disable them that is confusing... its what each "thing" actually does... advance trac, traction control, advance trac.

There is no official literature from ford that gives a clear detailed description of what each does... even though we all know how to activate and deactivate each of the settings.

Like some have suggested, one setting allows for more yaw... if this is true, how much more yaw? Is it a percentage of deflection than with all systems on or is it based on how the yaw is accelerating away from x axis(straight).

I'd really like a ford explanation of how the system is working (yes, I know there is an accelerometer or four being used)
