Hi all,

I am in need of some of your help. I recently purchased a Brembo 6 piston upgrade kit from LMR. I have bought wheels from them in the past and they are great. However, I believe they have been rather misleading. They advertise the pads that come with the kit as " These pads feature the same factory brake pad compound that rolled off the assembly line and is a direct replacement brake pad for your Brembo calipers." However, the pads that come with the kit are called Posi Quiet Ceramic Compound. Comes in a Posi Quiet branded box, no FoMoCo signs anywhere. Unless I am mistaken, these are not the same compound as rolled off the assembly line. They have an extremely soft pedal feel and honestly do not stop half as good as my G-Loc GS-1s did on my 4 piston calipers. Before I call out LMR for being misleading I wanted your opinions.

Thanks!

Says "same factory compound" . Ceramic pads. So they ain't lying.
Says "direct replacement" pads . Which it is. So again, they ain't lying.
Says "same components" . Obviously talking about the calipers.
As for being soft, you follow Brembo bleeding procedure ?

BTW , Centric (who manufacture those pads) was established in 2000 in Southern California. The company manufactures aftermarket and OE brake components and systems . So they could very well have manufactured motorcraft / Brembo OE pads.

He never said they are lying. He did say "misleading." In that case you can tell the truths to give a false impression 😁

NOW do I think it's misleading. Ehh not really. But that depends on the reader.

I think they wanted to stress these are as good as the factory set up, and in some case very much the same. But obviously they can't say that.

Like @WildHorse said did you make sure to follow their bleed procedure? Everytime a friend does their pads most come back and say they feel soft. And its almost always because they did poor job bleeding, or didnt bleed at all.

my factory brakes had way to much bite! Hated it. Power stops fixed that.

Yes I am not saying they are lying just misleading. All the work is done by my local race shop. They are the absolute best at what they do, I trust they did it right. I also have SS lines and run Castrol SRF. If you look at the reviews of the pads on their website other people also complain this is not the OEM compound. Not even close to the initial bite as OEM! I prefer the strong initial bite.

To be honest if it was the OEM brake compound it would say FoMoCo on the pads. If what people say is true about the OEM compound and it’s crazy initial bite, these are definitely not them. I also called ford to confirm the bed in procedure and did it perfectly.

Update:

I bought real OEM ford pads from my local dealership and installed them. Instantaneously a better pedal feel! Incredible initial bite and the pedal is not squishy. I can confidently say that I don't know what LMR was thinking that this pad is the "same as rolled off the assembly line". Utter BS. Rather unfortunate I had to go spend another $270 to fix something that should have never needed to be fixed!
