Please be careful getting your own. I went that route over the summer and it was a mistake. I got a fantastic deal on these sensors at my local Ford dealer. I had the tire place install them with my new tires and wheels. Two months later two of them don't register anymore. I'm out of the return window and I ended up paying the tire place to install the sensors they carry. If I would have just let the tire place install their own, they would have swapped out the bad ones for new ones. The bottom line with these sensors is that all they have to do is send a signal to the receiver. Whether its OEM or aftermarket, they all pretty much do the same thing.

@shogun32 has the best connect for these. It's like tpms.com or some obvious thing.

Yup you're right and OE is only about $100 a set. Don't play the ebay game unless you have a way to test them before mounting. It'll be the most expensive $30 you ever spent if it goes badly.

New to changing rims... Quick question, if I get new rims & tires for my 2021 GT (That has TPMS), do I need to replace the current OEM?

No, you should not need to reprogram for the new sensors. The last several years, Ford's sensors are recognized after driving for a short period.

I purchased a set from Ford Performance and used them with a new set of rims. About 1/4 mi, .4 km, they started synching, one after another and have been fine since.

I did a wheel swap a few years ago. Niches for someone's used 2015 PP1 wheels. The PP1 sensors synced after a few days. I just swapped Yokohama BluEarth Winter tires for Yokohama Advan Sport A/S + and had the shop replace, without trying to program, new front wheel tpms sensors. The two front ones had been intermittently dropping off. The new TPMS part number is shown in the picture. I've driven 4 miles and they have not yet synced. I'll reply here with the results after a bit more driving. I have a 2018 GT non-PP1.

Checking the part number, those appear to be the correct type:

https://ford.oempartsonline.com/oem...sure-monitoring-system-tpms-sensor-f2gz1a189a

If that is the actual package of the units you installed, I have a concern: they were bagged in 2017.

TMPS sensors have two primary bits: an accelerometer and a battery.

As the wheel spins and the accelerometer becomes active, the battery is used to power the sensor, the wheel alerting the car.

Just like a bag of batteries of the shelf, I'm worried those units, if eight years old, are nearing end-of-life, or, have already lost a good bit of their power.

If bought on-line from a third party, it would not be unusual they picked them up from somewhere else, from an old inventory purge or stale inventory, and sold. If they don't work, hopefully they have a return policy.

If bought from a dealer or the shop that installed the wheels, save the receipt.
