Hey everyone,

Wondering if anyone had any ideas for me regarding a situation with my TPMS. My front passenger side sensor for whatever reason always reads 1-2 psi lower than all the others. When I check the pressure with my hand held gauge it reads the same as all of the other tires. I have watched the screen and sometimes it reports correctly for a few minutes and then goes back down.

I don't have a clue what is causing it or if I should be concerned. They were purchased from American Muscle and are the official Ford Performance TPMS linked here.

Hoping someone can give me some good advice on what to check for.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Don't worry about it, one or 2 pounds won't hurt anything, just get in and drive it.

Yeah if it bothers you, you’re just going to have to pony up (pun intended) and replace that one sensor.

I have found that all of my sensors read 2-3 pounds higher than my digital gauge. It is nice to have a warning if a tire is too low but I don't use the TPMS to routinely check my tire pressures.

Watch it for the next several times you drive it.

When a car sits in the sun, the tires getting the sunlight will be hotter and therefor have higher PSIs. After driving for a bit, the pressures should balance out as the tire temps balance out.

Car is parked in an underground garage overnight, about three stories below ground. It doesn't seem to matter.

Swap the tires a bit - see if the low reading moves.

Yeap mine are +2 PSI always. Thought I was crazy and went out and bought a really good quality TP gauge to prove the TPMS wrong.

Is this with the car sitting still before driving it, or after it's been driven for awhile? Sometimes mine may not agree when I first fire up the car, but after driving a mile or so they seem to "update" and all match.

I got myself an "accurate" manual gauge, and compare it to my TPMS readings on the dash. There is a minor difference, so I just employ a little good old-fashioned Kentucky Windage, and call it good. :like:

I usually drive it for a bit and see if it updates. It will but sometimes it goes back down. At first I thought it was a slow leak but it does not continuously go down so I ruled that out. Especially because the hand held gauge shows no issue.

I am just going to leave it alone since it's just a readout. Thanks for the help everyone.
