If you are road coursing your car they request these hooks. Then make the comment if you don't have them and go off track, good luck, hope the recovery truck hooks to something solid if you go off course

If you race long enough you'll find a use for them.

I'll help. Here is ZL1's S550 PP front and rear hooks on my GT Premium w/ PP. Front hook required very minor dremmel work to slightly open up an existing grill hex, because we went with a slightly larger diameter shaft. You can't tell it was modified at all when the hook is out. You'd have to ask which shaft they're using by default these days.

if you get the rear hook, it obviously does require cutting the bumper, but the hole is entirely hidden by the rear plate when not installed.

Some tracks will not let you on with out tow hooks

WE do have the tow hooks for the non performance pack just put in the notes that is what you have.

i got sent here by someone else on another board. just went through a heavy snowfall and watched someone else's mustang get towed out of the ditch by using a tow strap threaded through the spokes of one of the rear wheels. needless to say black performance pack wheel+dirty tow strap=major cosmetic damage because no tow hook :(

how strong is this thing? would it be enough to pull a s550 out of a ditch, or is it just sufficient for track use?

i can't see well from the angle of the pictures, but does the front tow ring come into contact with the bumper?

The mounting bracket is attached to the inner metal bumper, but the hook doesn't 'touch' anything. the parts are all petty stout, so as long as the welds are good, it should be pretty strong.
