I have a '15 PP with the Ford Racing Phase 1 SC (basically same as Roush but with a Ford tune). 3:73 gears are a non issue for me (but we all know what opinions are like). Most leisure driving I start in 2nd gear as the added TQ of the blower helps. The 3rd & 4th gear pull with the blower is phenomenal. If anything negative, wheel spin is an issue in 2nd gear with the stock tire......anything over 1/2 throttle in 2nd and the tires break loose........also fun is you use it wisely.

I plan on going the SC route with this car, and as such would like to have other gearing than the 3.73.

With that said, is the larger radiator that the GTPP offers that big of a deal? I already plan on put on 20" wheels / Corsa / and Ford Perf suspension all around, so I am not really worried about the PP wheels and (mildly) upgraded suspension of the GTPP.

Thoughts?

If first gear is useless then you need taller gears. So the short 3.73 gears are an issue.

For mostly city, I would prefer 3.73. But for mostly highway I would prefer 3.31

I have 3.55, and I think the engine runs around 2000 RPM at 70 mph. 3.31 may be more like 1800 RPM. Which means the engine runs slightly quieter, for listening to the radio, audio books, etc.

I don't try to pass in 6th. That's what 3rd / 4th is for. Have some fun. That's the whole point of the manual.

Although I say that but if you pass people fast beware of the abrupt lane changers. Many cars have significant blind spots.
I tried passing on the highway with 3rd & 4th gear on my PP. Got a ticket for doing 100+ on 65MPH with reckless driving. Haven't tried since...

top of 3rd gear is around 100. So its better to not get to the top of 3rd gear. You could setup a MyKey for 80 mph. WOT until MyKey pulls power.

I wish MyKey was more programmable and could be set to 85, 90, 95, etc.

If I could do it all over, I'd get a non-PP with 3.55 gears and then I'd add Wilwood brakes, the bigger radiator/fans from the PP, get Recaro seats, and upgrade my suspension as I have already. I would not get the god awful shaker POS garbage poop sound system, either. At Atlanta Motorsport Park I top out 3rd gear on the fast straight and it's too much to do at once to switch then half a second later downshift and heal toe and all that jazz again heading into a tight as hell turn facing a sand trap. Every track is different, though.

3rd gear tops out at 90MPH with 3.73. I'm pretty sure I got pretty deep into the 4th gear before I saw blue lights behind me.

This was my thinking when I ordered my Non PP car. I didn't want to pay for the factory hop-ups when the plan was to swap every thing from the start. I really didn't want the Shaker audio because they are much more difficult to interface and get a quality full range signal until an aftermarket bezel is available.

^Audio part of your comment is incorrect. Low level signal from head unit, bypass amplifier entirely. Done. But, yeah, factory radios - no matter which - SUCK. SO. BAD.

(Nice choice on upcoming Steeda parts. Do add the LCA bearing to your list. You'll thank me later.)

Since I plan to keep my car NA, I wish I could buy a 3:73 differential without the Torsen since it add's like $1000 over the price of the standard 3:55 rear. Right now I have 3:15 so I'll have to go with 3:55. I believe the 3:55 complete differential is $899 right now, the 3:73 is like $1800 and I can't just add 3:73 because I heard the 3:15 rear is too small. :/

I remember that article but I've lived here all my life so I know how bad it is. Specifically up in the Northern parts. I paid a lot of money to get out of one back in 2010 (93/70 on I95). I was also cited a reckless ticket when I had a medical emergency, passed out and crashed my car. They gave me one for failure to maintain vehicle... well no shit, I was blacked out. LOL. Anything over 20mph/reckless is a class I misdemeanor, the same as a DUI...

They also use to try adding an additional 1000+ dollars to speeding fines, which was a racketeering scam. Eventually it got overturned and considered unconstitutional and they had to pay back everyone they stole from.
