You will not be at the pump every day. I drive 30miles daily and often like my foot is made of cement. I’m at the pump like once a week ... FBO GT. These cars get good mpg and the mpg loss versus a 4 cyl is gained in the massive amount of power difference among the other 1000 reasons to get a v8 rather than a 4cylMy Eco is paid off so no money owed to worry about. I like the Eco because is cheaper and it is also my daily and since I drive over an hour (over 50 miles each day), it is nice to not have to be at the pump every other day.
I am lining towards a new 18 Eco, base that I can upgrade, and just make a deal with the dealer if they refuse to have Ford pay for the AC replacement. But not sure about anything yet...
Just looked at the spark plugs in cylinder 4 and yes, it had some brownish deposit all over, especially when compared to spark plugs in cylinder 2 (see attachment). I believe I didn't tight it enough because it was super loose.Do a quick search on youtube on how to test for boost leaks. That could be the possible loss of power your describing. Its pretty common with turbo cars. Id start at that aftermarket intercooler.
Obviously, not going to be at the pump every other day but I will have a least a couple more fill ups per month, plus a higher monthly payment plus higher insurance, maintenance etc. It all adds up quickly just for a nice bump in power that I am not really going to take advantage of. Not saying I am not going for a GT as I would love to, but prices for them are $28k+ in my area. You can get lucky if you find a manual for less than that but that's about it.You will not be at the pump every day. I drive 30miles daily and often like my foot is made of cement. Food for thought, the GT gulps down 87 octane with virtually no loss in power. This will almost completely offset the price difference from the EB if you're running premium. You'll still be filling up more, but it won't cost as much.Just looked at the spark plugs in cylinder 4 and yes, it had some brownish deposit all over, especially when compared to spark plugs in cylinder 2 (see attachment). I tighten the clamps I saw around the turbo and the ones I could reach but I won't be able to do much until tomorrow when I lift it.

True, but I still would not be saving more than $8-9 per fill up. If I can find one with an auto and lowish mileage for $25 then I would consider it, otherwise I will have to stick with the Eco for nowFood for thought, the GT gulps down 87 octane with virtually no loss in power. In the end, it's really going to be up to how much that extra power is worth it to you. Very....Very...Very rarely will you ever see anyone sell their GT to buy an EB. Just saying. ;)

I always fill mine up with 93, in fact, I always go to the same Shell gas station haha To get X plan I have to join the Mustang club from the thread on the purchase section of the forum correct? I will be okay with a base or even a premium with 101A.Or you can take the loss on power with 87-89 on the EB and save more money. It’s up to you really, I’ll fill mine with 93 but again it just depend if you’re going to use the car for Daily Driving le track/race/etc.
You can get a EB Premium with 201A for 32k and with Xplan and incentives will go down to 26/27k. Or you can get a base for 25k and Xplan + incentives should be in the very low 20s.
Gas is not my main concern but it sure is nice to not have to pay much more thanks to being able to get 87 instead of 93. Cost of the car is though. I will see what I can get on a base GT and go from there. I would love to go with a GT but the extra $8-$10k may be too muchGoing strictly off of highway mileage.
Let’s break down your monthly fuel budget based off of 50 miles per day (1000 miles per month).
In the EB at 31 MPG, 1000/31 = 32.26 Gallons of fuel X $3.00 per gallon (premium)= $96.77 per month fuel cost.
In the 5.0 at 25 MPG, 1000/24 = 40.00 Gallons of fuel X $2.50 per gallon(regular)=$100.00 per month fuel cost.
This works out to under $4/month…and is the same across the country assuming a $.50 per gallon delta between premium and regular.
With that said, if you are still concerned about budget....don't do anything that will put you in an uncomfortable position (that's what she said).
All that's good but I've never gotten anything close to 25MPG on the highway in my car. Must be the 3.73s and the 75-80 mph cruising speed.Going strictly off of highway mileage.

Don’t know about the Mustang Club, I believe you have to wait 2 months to use through them. I have Xplan because of my employer has an agreement with Ford.I always fill mine up with 93, in fact, I always go to the same Shell gas station haha To get X plan I have to join the Mustang club from the thread on the purchase section of the forum correct? I average 24 MPG from South Carolina to Michigan (and back)....some of which is through the mountains (all at 75-80mph). If you aren't getting close to 25MPG with 3.73's and cruise control set you have something wrong with your car.All that's good but I've never gotten anything close to 25MPG on the highway in my car. I can confirm I also get 24-26 MPG highway going 70-80. 3.73s and cruise control.I average 24 MPG from South Carolina to Michigan (and back)....some of which is through the mountains (all at 75-80mph). I average about 20-21 on my highway commute. Admittedly I never use cruise control and it's usually closer to 80 than 75.I average 24 MPG from South Carolina to Michigan (and back)....some of which is through the mountains (all at 75-80mph).
