I've tinted all of my past rides. 2003 Infiniti G35, 2007 BMW 3, 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT8. I will tint my Mustang as well.

Here in California...have the driver ang front passenger windows to DARK is not only a fine it's a fix it ticket as well. Also Front plate is required, same offence!

Here's what I've done on all of my cars. I go to a locale shop, same guy, excellent work. He carrys two different types of tint, both in varying degrees of sun blockage.

One tint has a 5 year warranty. The other more expensive tint has, (what he says is metal in it) don't ask me to explain that. Maybe someome else can. All I know is that the tint with the metal in it does slightly interfere with the rear glass inbedded radio antena on FM. I personally don't mind that because the tint is exceptional and crisp and clear, no distortions.

I chose the least/lightest sun block he has, I think it's 63%. meaning it allows 63% light it. Because all my interiors has been black and the tint is reflective, it looks darker than it is.

I also have him do every window the same tint, no two tone crap with the rear darker than the front. (Getto Bro). I include the windshield as well. That way it looks factory done. I've had police check when I've been stopped and question it and I just tell them, heck if I know...came that way from the factory.

It's the only way to roll for me. Because the wind shield lets in so much light, having it tinted is just great, you don't even need your sun glasses on while driving. At night it's very easy on the eye's too. The on coming head lights don't bother you. Don't go dark tint though if you do the wind shield...it sucks in the rain.

As far as the front plate goes. I leave it off. If I get stopped for it, I pay the fine, two side tape it on, get the fix it ticket signed off and remove it again. No body! No body is drilling two holes in the front of my 2015 Ingot Silver GT Mustang.

I once had a Dealer do it before I signed on the dotted line and I refused to tak delivery.

P.S. I've also had the same shop do all of my previous cars with clear bra's on the front to prevent road rash and head light fade.

We can't tint our front windows here in NH so I'm not sure it would look good with just the quarter windows and rear done.
Why do people say "Tints" isn't it just "window tint" or "tint job"
Im not getting armor alls for my car or paints...?

Sorry I don't have any photo's of my previous cars with tint. However I did a litle research and the what used to be the best material for tinting had metal in the film. Now the latest and greastest material without any of the unwelcome interference with RF, i.e. radio, cell phone, GPS, NAV, Radar Detectors is tint that is High Performance Ceramic Film.

You guessed it...cost more! However, it is an investment in protection of the interior that I for one think is worth it.

I'm really glad I don't live in Communifornia...and I never will. Two different %'s is certainly not ghetto. I'm pretty sure its 25% rear and 35% front, legally, for me and I'd love for you to tell me you can even tell a difference on the Hummer..

I will be getting the 25% on the all rear windows and 35% on the doors. I also plan on doing a ~25% visor for once, nothing extreme but probably an inch or two lower than the AS-1 line.

Didn't mean to offend Trevon. I forgot my forum edicate and should have stated that IMHO, I don't think two different tints works for me.

For the record...I would be able tell the difference.

:headbonk: No offense taken, just know that everything I say is said jokingly or sarcastic! A byproduct of my line of work probably.

I can somewhat tell in the daytime they are different but they're both pretty dark it doesn't bother me.

Understood! What state are you in? The republic of Califonia is really uptight when it comes to cars. Remember... This is the brain trust that invented the catilytic converter.

I do the same tint throughout and lite just so the CHP can't tell it's not factory.

Enjoy your new Mustang.

Location updated. Hate the winters and lack of car scene but like a lot else about it!
