I finally got around to redoing my tail lights and took a pic mid-process. This was taken in full sun, tail lights on, around 3pm. Left is Anchor Room, center is no tint, and right is Big Worm Lamin-x charcoal.

I've used and recommended Lamin-x for years, but I'm sold on the Anchor Room product. At this darkness/tint level it provides better visibility in daylight and overall has a smoother appearance on the lights. The Lamin-x has a better color hue, but I still prefer the Anchor Room.

Bump for more feedback from members who've installed either. I'm looking to black out the rear end lights of the car and am completely torn between these two options.

I have Anchor room on all the rear lights and markers. Very satisfied and easy to install as long as you follow the videos for the tail lights. I'm sure BWG is quality as well. But I couldn't be happier with how mine look now.

I can't say I have a preference because I've only tried BWG and didn't have a need to change. Unless someone tells me there is a way to tint the headlights and not reduce the light output lol. I had to pull the tint off the headlights but LOVED the look with them on there. Charcoal on the tail lights is perfect and the lights are still very easy to see. Install was a breeze and I'm terrible with vinyl.

My BWG tints are the darkest they offer and are great. But like stoli's photo above, they aren't cut exactly to fit. Either at the top or bottom you can see that there are some untinted spaces.

I can say I have made several orders thru anchor room and have talked to him twice on the phone. I can say he is beyond a gentleman, and super helpful. I messed up a few pieces and he helped me out big time and hooked me up with what I need. On too installation all the tint has been perfect and figment was great. I am running all of his tint minus headlight and fog lights. I can not say enough good stuff about Anchor Room I called to get the replacement pieces and we ended up talking 20mins on the phone. Also he has video installations of most of his stuff on the website.

Going to install the darker anchor room tint this week to the front end lenses. Anyone have difficulty with visibility with the darker tint? I ordered a extra lighter set for the headlights just in case but rather only install the tint once lol. I have the dark anchor room tint in the rear and the light shines through fine.

I tried the Anchor Room tail light tint kit a couple of weeks back. I didn't even get half way through the installation and peeled it back off. It was a hot day, mid 90s and the vinyl was scratching and marring badly, even inside my garage in the shade. May try again when it gets cooler outside this fall. I doubt there's any warranty for this kind of failure though.

So, for those who are going to attempt this yourself, remember, cool day, shade, plenty of patience.

Having used various tints (including Anchor Room and Big Worm) on head and tail lights I have to disagree with this 100%

In my experience I have found that direct sun on a warm/hot day is the best way to ensure you get all of the bubbles worked out. In the shade it is near impossible to see them all and you'll be disappointed as soon as you see it in direct light.

If it was scratching and marring, I'm going to guess you just needed more water on the vinyl and possibly were not using the felt squeegee. Be sure to spray both the light and the back of the vinyl - you can't use too much.

Just my 2 cents...

I went with the AR tint, 50% on the head lights. I made some mistakes and had to get replacements. Jason was very helpful from Anchor Room. I will say that if I had to do this over, I wouldn't have done it myself. For me it would have been worth it to pay someone to have it done perfect. I had a few wrinkles that I will just have to live with. Nothing terrible but if you look close enough you can see them. I think the fogs were the toughest to do. I talked to Jason on the phone and he even said that they removed the lights to do them right. I wasn't going to pull them out though.

Here are some pics of my install.

Here's how the Anchor Room tint kit came out on our GT350. Such a nice kit.
