Heck, it only took me a year and a half to get it done, geeze. Went with the best they had to offer, "ceramic" allegedly, whatever that means in terms of vinyl film. (you got me) Stayed legal up front with thirty percent and twenty for the triangles and rear glass. Nothing on the windshield.

The most astounding thing to me being an old schooler is the heat reduction improvement in the vinyl. Amazing technology and visibility isn't hampered too much.

The “ceramic” is what gives you the heat rejection. Actually the biggest heat creator is your windshield. I had mine done with 70% You cannot see it, no issues with visibility or your local police. And the added heat rejection is significant.

Did 70 on my windshield. What a difference. Helps with the dusk/ dawn glair if driving into the sun.
How do you find your windshield with polarized sunglasses? Since the tint itself is polarized I find some of mine give everything a purplish tint. Actually its pretty cool.

Mine is Xpel Ceramic Tint, And it does keep the heat out fairly well, Mine is 5% back and vent windows, 25% (1 over legal) for the front windows and 70% Windshield with a 5% banner on top of the windshield.

I looked at my bill. I actually have Autobahn Air 80 Ceramic.

Thought this was interesting.

I just treat it like any other tint, I don’t see scratches. I use microfiber rags and cleaner like anything else.
But yeah, it does block those rays.

Funny though I drive w windows fully down 90 percent of time

Sucks I had it and had a smashed window, paid 500 for another windshield and another 300 for re tint again. Sucked but worth it imo

Me too!

My tint guy would not touch my front windshield. Said too many electronics to potentially get wet during the install process and he didnt want to be responsible nor wreck my new car. I agreed 🙂

Hey, I THOUGHT about the windshield but elected not to film it. Down here near the equator though, it would no doubt further reduce the temp inside the car. But, I don't drive her that much and she doesn't sit out in the sun very often and when she does I use a sunscreen. Already have a dash cover.

I WILL think about it however. :-)

If the job is done by a competent installer there is no issue with the electronics. I have the Safe & Sound on my 19’. The installer covered the box before starting the install.

I would absolutely get the windshield tinted if I didn’t live in Assachussetts. There is no doubt in my mind I would get flagged on day one of driving around.

I have a tint waiver which I had to jump hoops to get. Even on it, it’s clearly written there can be no tint below the AS1 line. I did put a pretty healthy 5% limo tint strip across my windshield (all my vehicles), but that’s the most I’m willing to do around here. This is way below the AS1 line. If you look where that line is, it’s not even worth doing a strip.

Come to Florida, everyone has 5% tint here, even the cops.
