My question is am I right that Ford did a software update to the pcm to reduce the risk
and what are the part numbers for the latest VCT phasers both exhaust and inlet

You might want to search threads containing "2K rattle" before you go tearing everything apart.

Just drive the car. Fords have noisy timing. It’s not usually an issue.

Until it throws a code you are OK. That said if they do need replacing get the Ford Performance versions.
