So Im ready to make my car ridiculously loud again as I head back to Cali for summer and was finally able to get out of state plates for my car so cops cannot hassle me for exhaust when Im back. My old setup was Roush AB + Ford X pipe + MAK cat deletes. Had to replace the Ford X pipe with a magnaflow Tru X as I was in LA at the time and that setup was not going to last more than a day in LA, it was literally ridiculous.

Im thinking of switching over to an H pipe this time. Does anyone on here have Roush AB's + H pipe + MAK cat deletes so I can hear how it sounds? Cant find anything on youtube. Im also whipple 2.9 supercharged, which makes the car MUCH louder compared to an N/A car with same setup. I just want a deeper sound this time while being close to that level of loudness again. Any recommendations on which H pipe I should order? ive heard amazing things about steeda's and MRT's versions. There is also a dirt cheap one for like $140 on American muscle like C&L brand and Pypes.

Here are some clips of my old setup with the supercharger so you guys can see what Im talking about :cwl::cwl::cwl:

Are you aware of the recent EPA crackdowns? If you don't have the delete pipes, you probably won't find them.

Even assuming for off-road use only.

I know someone with headers, H-pipe, and Roush axle back. It's very loud. Not quite as loud as the guy with headers & Borla Atak or the guy with headers & Corsa Extreme, though.

Can't help you with the H pipe but I went the opposite way. Straight through and quiet as a mouse. I can hot rod and get no attention from LE.

Yea, let the OP enjoy his car his way.

I don't have the loudest exhaust in town by any means, but there is definitely a certain level of childish charm of hearing your car's engine note reverberating off buildings. Let OP do what he wants, that's between him and law enforcement lol

In my youth the first thing I'd do to a car was cut off the mufflers and install a test pipe (on cars that had cats)

I get it.

What I don't get is why does it take 4 glass packs ( 2 per side) to quiet a coyote when it only took 2 (1 per side) to quiet a 12 to 1 409?

had to fact check myself and it was 11 to 1.

This dual-quad version was immortalized in the Beach Boys song titled "409". In the 1963 model year, output reached 425 bhp (431 PS; 317 kW) @ 6000 rpm and 425 lb⋅ft (576 N⋅m) @ 4200 rpm of torque with the Rochester 2X4-barrel carburetor setup, a compression ratio of 11:1 and a solid lifter camshaft.

I owned this SS red on red 2 door car. Wish I still had it.

I won't mention names but some people like central planning. Don't be that person.

Coyote is mostly loud from the high compression ratio. More squeeze = more sound. The flathead firing order also creates uneven pulses.

Similar compression ratio but a lot less power. 425 gross HP is not nearly that much in modern SAE. A coyote is probably making like 125+ more HP.
