yeah i just did prokits today. it feels awesome and still has a great ride. turns super flat and has less nose dive and less nose lift during shifts ect

This is my winter wheel/tire situation. Lowered would probably look better but these are 18 x 9.5 + 22 on all 4 corners. Tires are 225/40/18

Requesting a side shot with it lowered. Loved the wheel design but it looked like a 4 wheeler w the stock ride height. Did you get these for under 1 grand shipped?

You're saying the car is lowered in those pics?

Those are way too small for the car. Ford designed the car for around a 27 inch tire hight
Smaĺlest EB PP/ GT PP front 255/40/19 =27.03 inches
Tallest GT PP Rear 275/40/19 = 27.66 inches
Base v6/EB 235/55/17 = 27.18 inches
Your set up ? 225/40/18 = 25.09 inches.

You won't hurt anything but it looks terrible and your stability & traction control will not be calibrated properly as your Speedo will be between 7-10% off, not to mention you will take a fuel economy hit.

^ +1

He is gonna need 255/45/18 with those wheels. I have same wheels but 8.5 width all around so I'm thinking 234/50/18 tires will fit nicely.

I mean. I know they aren't properly sized. Not my first rodeo. Yeah the speedo is off. Traction control wise, I don't think it effects anything since the wheel speed sensor is mounted inboard. If anything it'll just be more active than necessary.

I'm also well aware it looks a bit dopey in the front. But given these are winter/ice tires I don't care, it looks much worse in pictures than in person and its only for part of the year. I already had the wheel/tire set up from a previous car that I never ended up using them on, instead of reselling them to someone at less than I paid I decided to use them.

As a whole though I think 18s are an interesting size to play around with given the performance tire options are immensely larger than with 19s and 20s are expensive and hefty. I think just about anyone interested in running 18s full time will have to examine lowering the car to even attempt decent looking fender gaps.

(on fuel still managed 35mpg on this tank of gas so *shrug* I think I'm ok)

the problem is...your traveling less distance than your car thinks its going. so depending on the % your off...your mileage is lower than the ecu thinks it is. granted...does your actual mpg decrease...yeah maybe a hair but it wont hurt too much.
