Because of the crappy 91 octane fuel in California, I just upgraded to an E30 tune from Tune +. Adam recommended I try it, as at WOT my car was pulling five degrees of timing! I am half way through my first full tank of E30, and my car has never ran better. This even includes at idle. WOT pulls are definitely more torque and power. I will be datalogging Adam's revised tune this weekend. The research I did on the internet, for the most part, did not show issues with using E30 in a non-flex fuel car. Any comments are welcome.

I don't currently have an E30 tune, but I did purchase a lifetime tuning package from another tuner and will be trying it in the future. I had some negative corrections when I was running an OTS tune, but not under WOT. From what I have read, the E30 tunes are pretty good Look forward to hear what others with an E30 tune say.

It was badass on my 2015 from Adam. However, you need to mix it correctly though, or run the risk of boom.

So why go for e30, wouldnt e85 be easier a d more accessible? Mixing fuel just seems like your asking for issues. But maybe I just don't understand the concept of e30 that well

The car can run E30 with just a tune. To run straight E85 you will have to run an auxiliary fuel system.

From what I have read, the mixing isn't that difficult. You can use the accessport to see how much fuel is in the tank. There are some apps you can use to calculate the blend based on the amount of fuel and ethanol content in your tank I believe the biggest issue is using poor quality E85. That is why tuners tell you to test the ethanol first. If you assume the ethanol content is what the pump says and it is off, you will run into issues.

Adam offers an app, or you can download an app on your smartphone that shows what the correct mix ratio of E85 to gasoline should be. I use my Cobb Accessport to show me exactly how much fuel I have in the tank. It's much more accurate than the analog gauge in the dash.

The power bump of going from 93 to E30 is insane. From 91 its gotta be nuts. You have to remain diligent about it, however. Test your E85 station every couple months or season because the batches definitely can change and mess up your calculations without even knowing it. Don't let a batch of it sit in the tank for too long. Run it normally. Its super addicting but running 93(or whatever you have available) through it every few tanks is a good idea too even though you'll be down on power.

Also, just to be sure, I test the E85 I get at a local station every two weeks. My last test showed the E85 to be E84, at best. The smartphone calculator allows you to adjust for this.

It seems like more trouble than it's worth.

it's actually not too bad if you buy one of the tester kits, just have to pre fill it with water to a certain line on the tube then add in some e85 and shake it and watch it settle

I'll sacrifice power to just be able to fill up and go. I'm not trying to be a chemist every time I fill up

I would be nice to just have 93 octane available, but California stupidly doesn't. The E30 fill-up does not take much longer than a standard fill-up. At my gas station the E85 and premium gas come from the same pump. Remember, I'm pulling 5 degrees of timing with my mods, at WOT. That's scary. Also, the E30 will be better with my next mod--a turbo upgrade.
