I am super exited to hear that Ford has decided to bring back yellow to the regular Mustang buyer. It may not make for the highest selling color of the bunch, but everybody knows that one yellow car attracts more attention in general traffic than 100 grey or black ones combined and therefore every single one that they do sell is a 10 year long driving billboard for the Mustang brand.

By not offering a decent yellow for many years (except for the super limited Boss) Ford has missed out on a lot of attention for the Mustang brand that they could have had for free. I'm glad they came to their senses. Let's hope it's here to stay.

Now the big question is what will this new Triple Yellow look like? It's not easy to nail a good yellow, actually it's very easy to mess it up. The pictures that have popped up here and there give a wide variety of shades so I'm kinda up in the air if I will actually like it or not. My current impression is that it will move away from the recent more reddish Schoolbus Yellow and back to a more greenish tone like Screaming Yellow. I've tried to shop some variations, to give an impression of what could be in store.

First what I currently think Triple Yellow will look like:

Next what I hope it will look like, a bit more reddish, like Sunflower Yellow:

And as a comparison two more known shades that I wouldn't mind either. First off the leaning-towards-orange-but-it-is-still-yellow-yellow, also known as Schoolbus Yellow:

And last but not least a close cousin of the yellow family, Grabber Orange:

They are all nice.

I'd take the top of the 2 yellows.

Or I'd take the bottom one the Grabber Orange.

Just to add to the confusion 4 shots that were posted earlier, 2 from videos, one from the Ford website and one from a phone cam:

Just don't let it be Zinc Yellow. Blah!

I have a yellow 1995 GTS so I'm a yellow fan too! Anxious to see the '15 yellow as well.

Yellow Blaze was offered across models in 2012, perhaps 11 too. I love the color. It's probably closest to your School Bus, but with heavy metallic. Perhaps between that and Grabber Orange. On the road, it closely matches caution signs and road striping in color.

I think it was one of the colors impacted by the tsunami, which suspended many high-metailic colors in the 2012 MY (if I recall correctly), along with Lava Red and Sterling Gray (perhaps others).

I am with you…. I hope it leans orange. I've seen very yellow Mustangs from prior years, some with white convertible tops. Pretty, but not-pretty, if you know what I mean.

The top one (from MotorTrend's vid) is just Photoshop. You can see the red on the black lower plastics still. I would disregard that one.

I would trust that photo of paint on the scaled shell most, but that IS indoors.

In one video I saw, it was described as an "eye searing" yellow, literally painted in three color coats to cover the primer that's subtly visibly under most yellows. Whether I like the color or not, I do like that attention to quality. :clap2:

I was a huge fan of chrome yellow in the late 90's. Triple yellow is my second color choice as of now behind magnetic. But that could change if and when I see one in person. I'm hoping there will be several colors at the Chicago auto show in February.

I hope it's like the 2nd 3rd or 4th picture. I didn't like the Zinc Yellow, but I love School Bus Yellow and Grabber Orange.

Chrome Yellow came back as Screaming Yellow in 2005 and 2006. It was very close, Screaming being just a tad more greenish I think.

I used to have a Chrome Yellow 98 Cobra which I loved, but overtime my taste in yellow has evolved to the more warm sunflower side. I currently drive an A5 that I had custom painted in Mercedes-Benz Yellowstone.
