update today, all kits from november are out 12/1 kits should start shipping this week, a 3rd mold was also added for gen 5 cases. Whipple hopes to be shrinking the lead times really quickly
Thanks Terry for restoring some hope! What a gut punch today with that four month additional delay from today!

Ordered mine 11/30 from lethal and I have gotten no updates at all.

That’s not accurate. I ordered through Lethal 11/28. They called Whipple today, I’m 2-3 weeks out. Not concerned with it, was 40 mph blowing snow today here.

I called them, they called Whipple while I was on hold. Being your the 30th I’ll bet your right after mine. You can call them as well and have them check. Took less then 10 minutes for me.

I was just pointing out unless they shipped it within the last couple days then I would say all the November orders are not filled yet.

It will arrive when it arrives, bugging people on the phone won’t get it here any quicker.

I asked Whipple the purpose of those tabs, they are just there so the blower will sit on a bench for assembly. No other functional purpose than that.

I did ask about more detailed Tomahawk instructions than what comes with the kit. The instructions with the kit only go over a few basic things (programming, logging, crank relearn). Nope, they have not other documentation to share.... There are quite a few other things it can do and I wanted to be sure I was not misinterpreting any of it. Oh well..probably would not use most of it anyway.
I noticed the info for the Tomahawk control was limited too and assumed more info would come with the control itself. Its supposed to have "Flight Control" where you can adjust throttle control percentage but none of that was mentioned in the online PDF. I'm not familiar with the Tomahawk control at all, maybe they have to program and email that type of data to you?

All you get is a paper print out of what is available online. I think the intent is to do it all from the Tomahawk. "Flight Control" is there. Some "Guardian" features as well. There is a diagnostics menu along with valet mode. I also found something called "race mode" that you can enable and disabled. It was disabled by default. I only looked at it for about 5 mins, so I should probably study it again.

They said they would be happy to answer any specific questions I may have. I think I'm going to be "that guy" and literally email them the entire menu tree and ask what each option does. LOL Crazy a kit of this caliber (and price) does not have more detailed instructions.

Appreciate the info! Agree that for 8k+ you shouldn't have to specially ask for all the programming options. It could be their way of reducing customer programming errors by being involved and advising with each feature and change. Have seen that a lot with programmable electronics in my industry.
I would never give my key fob to a valet but that mode would be useful if you had to take it to a shop or someone else had to drive it. Race mode sounds interesting.

And Thanks to everyone else for chiming in on the lead time issue. Just hope Beefcake is more accurate than Lethal though, another 12 weeks on top of the 16 I've already been waiting is enough to make me reconsider the order and go with another brand.... but settling for your 2nd choice sucks too.

Damn! 12 more weeks!
You should see how bad even the OEM parts supply side is getting just for STOCK replacement parts lately.....it's pretty rough.

Working on a Magnuson kit for a GM vehicle, they are saying July+ at this point.....

I feel the clock is ticking regarding being able to get an aftermarket tune for the kit. Would really suck to finally get the unit and then not be able to tune for performance (and I didn't get the canned tune from Whipple, but already paid for Lund tune)

That's been on my mind and the main reason I returned my LT's w/o cats even though I could run mill elims, I wanted them tuned out.

So I have an update from Whipple directly. My order was placed December 20th and we were told 3-4 more weeks from yesterday. So end of April seems to be that date - which I can deal with. It seems Terry/Beefcake was correct as the Whipple Rep told me to not worry - and they are getting these units out.

Got an unexpected and detailed email from Dustin Whipple yesterday.

As we know they got 3x the Black Friday orders as they have in previous years which totally overwhelmed them, most of which were the F150/5.0 versions. Then add covid, material delays, holiday delays and most critically the foundry that makes the casings closed for a whole month and he said still isn't back to 100% yet.

Also because of the sheer volume of BF orders, it took their staff 2 weeks just to write them all up. And since an order is counted by the date it was written up, the order dates we are all going by could be off by as much as that two weeks. So those of you that ordered on BF and are thinking yours is a November order, thats not necessarily true. If your order was at the bottom of the pile and didn't get officially written up until say Dec 5th, then yours is considered a December order with a December 5 order date. And because of that same volume delay, those of us that ordered in early December will most likely now have a mid-late December order date assigned to ours.

He said all the November dated orders have been sent out with the exception of 2, but that can be misleading because again, it all depends on when THEY wrote up your order, not when you ordered it. They are currently working on the December dated orders.

He said as of yesterday, orders are shipping at the 18 week mark (again, relative to when the order was written) and holding steady with that time frame but over the next few weeks they hope to lower that lead time significantly with all of the measures they have taken with additional molds and production.

So basically the BF orders that were written up with a November date are sent out. The remaining BF orders that were written up with a December date should be shipping/arriving within the next couple of weeks. The other December dated orders will come next and so on.

2 weeks to write up all the Black Friday orders? That seems insane.

I know, it would seem so but just playing devils advocate, we don't know what volume they're used to or have staff for. The number I've heard a few times is 600 orders this BF, which if they're normally used to just getting 200 orders over that holiday, I can see how that could be overwhelming and difficult to anticipate. Making a good product that everyone wants can be a double edged sword sometimes.

Al I know is within the next couple of months there's gonna be a crap ton of boosted 5.0's running around with big ass grins 😁on their driver faces. I'm looking forward to it.
