I put mine in the basket when ordering the struts on the forum deal so no postage and 10% off, tried to go back and do the same with some suspension stuff but think they clocked it. :tsk:

Welcome, congratulations, but if you've been lurking you must know it is the law around these parts to provide pics ;)

saw this thread loads of times but never looked in cos lets face it, it sounds boring lol

but having driven an auto for god knows how long, the one thing bothering me about the car (1 day into ownership) is how jerky and rubbish my gear changes are, might just be me (& probably is) but i prefer to blame something else so this fits nicely.

Order placed immediately :headbang:

p.s you should rename the thread - The Steeda Clutch spring - MUST DO MOD FOR SMOOTHER GEAR CHANGES or something so dumbos like me can benefit too :)

Mine came today, it was pretty easy to install, far easier than removing the stock spring. Be careful if you're coming from no spring, the first few shift you'll be kicking the floor lol

Am I the only one who doesn't mind the oe spring. What's the problem ?

Does the replacement make it harder so more of a pain in traffic?

The feel of the original spring is fine - but its the cause of every single slightly fluffed or rough shift.....

With the Steeda spring the clutch isnt heavier (per se), its more that it gives much more feel so you can tell exactly how far you are on the pedal travel.

With the original spring about 1/3 of my shifts were either rough or jerky.

Not had one bad one since fitting the Steeda spring a week ago.

Nah you're not the only one mate. From day one, actually from my first gear change from the dealership was flawless. A much lighter clutch compared to my Ford Ranger. I have been driving manual all my life and the clutch feel is great IMO. I won't argue with those that have fitted the new clutch spring however not needed.
