The Steeda Clutch spring

Mine was a bear to install, but I would agree that it is an improvement.

If you're pinching pennies... I would say that the 20 quid is better spent elsewhere, as its only a minor change.

Does help with the jerky gear changes..... enough to be noticeable.

Thanks - I found the spring tonight whilst tidying out the garage trying to find a space for the standard exhaust that as taken off the car last week. Will definitely be going on the car now to improve the gear change

Pulled the spring on mine a week or so into ownership, no going back though since part of the assembly fired off somewhere never to be found again.

I'm in two minds...I don't hate the stock set-up however I have a spring in hand, thanks to Gibbo
I believe that once out the stock spring would be nigh on impossible to refit?

Cant answer for that, but its so much nicer you wont want to go back.

Like I said before, I didnt hate the feel of the original, but I found myself making jerky changes quite often due to the over-assisted nature of the pedal.

With the new spring its perfect and you can feel the progression of the pedal much more easily.

May have to do this. I get jerky gear changes sometimes, passenger rarely feels it but I do.

That's all I remember from my test drive in December. 1st to 2nd change felt like I was a learner driver!

Although it is unbelievably expensive ie £20.00 inc p&p for a spring which probably costs sub 50p to produce.

I have to say it transforms the feel of the clutch that vagueness you feel when looking for the bite point disappears. The first to second change is much easier this is a must do mod.

I was going to put mine on tonight, watched a couple of YouTube clips and 2 of them broke the bracket at the top. Also tried to fit my DRL's failed and gave up. Manders has helped with that so give it another go soon.

Might get the chap doing my springs and spacers to do my clutch spring.

Isn't clutch spring, push clutch down and then pull out? Thought it was quite easy form what others said - but other peoples easy is my version of mission impossible....

I've not tried it as driving to Surrey tomorrow and didn't want to make a school boy error before then. The vids online put me off a bit but will give it go next week and report back. Got the Steeda struts to go on as well, time and shite weather and being non handy at these things has delayed my mods.

My mechanic had it out (oo-er) in <10s.

I think he just pulled the bugger out, certainly didnt use the plier/pinch method as per the instructions. Then again, he has traditional mechanic gorilla hands!
