It would be safe to say the Pearson E85 is a true E85 regardless where you get it in Cali, in Cali we have to get the pure E85 or it gets taxed like regular fuel.

Interesting - Not often that this heavily regulated state does something good for hot-rodders. And I'm sure Propel is the same since they probably source from the same supply.

AND FYI - Today marks the 1 year anniversary of this thread, with great data for us E85 aficionados. I was particularly surprised when I checked it in the winter in the high desert w/ temps in the low 20s and E85 content remained high. Cheers.

I am not running an E85 tune I just run 3 gallons of E85 to 13 gallons of 91 to get me at or a tad over 93.

i fill up e85 at only 2 locations relatively close by. my flex fuel sensor (for my proflex commander unit) tells me the ethanol is very very close to e85 consistently. this has given me more confidence as i consider going twin turbo or centri and running a dedicated e85 tune. but then again i hate to give up my warranty!

That's what I do with the RS - it has a 93 tune and its spot on using E85 as an octane booster.

Yeah - it would be nice, but, for one, I rarely go north of Barstow and don't venture much to LA, OC and SD counties. That said, I'll set aside my provincial prejudices and post data from Nor Cal if someone collects it.

Went back for another round of Pearson E85, and it came out as 89%. I'll be in Buttonwillow this weekend, so I'll check out those in Bakersfield for the fellow track rats.
