Don't worry so much about going "full manual". It has it's place and reasons to use it.

But learn what each of the 3 aspects are (iso, aperture, shutter speed) and work on control 2 of the 3 of them yourself.

The first step to get out of AUTO is taking control of your ISO. When you understand what that does and how it affects your pictures, start shooting in aperture priority.

Finally switch to shutter priority. When you grasp all three of those, full manual will be a piece of cake.

I shoot 70% in aperture priority, 25% manual, 5% shutter priority.
Excellent advice. For car photography, I like to use a Circular Polarizing Filter. It allows me to eliminate glare on windows or body parts by turning the filter.

Here I eliminated the glare coming off the front windshield and most of the door window (which I should have rolled down, duh!).

Peak Autumn colors came to Central New York this week. I visited Green Lakes State Park near Syracuse early this morning.

Used a tripod to shoot at 1/13s @ f/16 with an ISO of 100 to get sharp focus from the front to the back of the frame. This is called Hyperfocus. There was a slight breeze so the water was not mirror still.

This location was a bit better for the reflection. Same exposure.

This was taken at 1/5s @ f/16 and ISO of 100 still using a tripod.

All of these photos were processed in Lightroom Classic and I made extensive use of the Graduated Filter tool to even out the light and colors in the sky and shoreline.

On the way home, I drove through the Oakwood Cemetery in Syracuse looking for an appropriate background for October for the Mustang.

This is the Mortuary Chapel & Receiving Vault for the cemetery build back in 1879 which is no longer in service.

Some amazing photos in this thread. Did a small shoot recently doing some location scouting. I didn't want to bore everyone with a stock car but since this is a photography based thread I added a bit more photos :like:

Stopped my photography side gig a few years ago, sold off my Canon 6D, L glass, and a few ART primes. Recently decided I'm missing out on capturing a lot of moments with my kids (and the new car) so I picked up a simple little Sony A6300 locally with a few Sigma primes. Its been a while but its nice to be editing photos again lol
