Yeah, complete shite. Military bit was mildly amusing at first but went on too long. Just didn't get it:shrug:

Yeh, second episode was too much comedy (second rate) and not enough cars

Yep, the repeating got a bit dull.

In other news, if ur wondering why the celeb interviews never happen it's because bbc threatened legal action over it, so instead they kill them off and mention the 'drops' the celeb wanted whilst they 'die'

I actually preferred some of the new TG episodes. If they'd done this they'd have been panned. Emperor's new clothes just fell off.

Think some of the stuff they're doing is because of TG legalities.... Who knows

So the good bits are down to Jezza and co, but the bad bits are due to BBC legalities?
Sounds a bit like Scottish politics ;)

Well, well, well !

BBC wouldn't let them:
Have the stig
Keep the test track laps
Time cars around the track (but they've managed to do that)
Interview celebrities
the 'Conversation corner' is another one.

By the sounds of it the bbc tried it's hardest to stop them from producing anything threatening to their audience, although bbc killed their audience anyway!

The 3 Lads have the keys to the Kingdom, JC can say and do what he likes. He keeps Amazon sweet and they pay him loads of dosh, and let him have loads of fun.
He even said " this is meant to be a car show, we need a car"
But I actually laughed a bit at the save the queen bit, as it was so bad
Mind you that Aston was a bit fast, once JC managed to get into it
The whole idea of the Grand Tour to spice TG up a bit was pitched a few years back, but the BBC did not have the money to make it happen. Amazon do

The military bit was a pi** take of Playstation & Xbox games i.e fight, die, repeat etc. Thought it was funny cause I can relate 100%. I am definitely JM cause although I'm generally shite & die all the time, I just keep trying on & on & on :)

you cant blame the BBC they paid JC a small fortune to get the rights to TG. So why should they give up what made TG Special. In shirt sales and Merch the Stig sold more then the 3 boys together.
Also the German, US, OZ etc versions of the show use the Stig a lot, and they have paid the BBC a lot of money to put these shows on using the TG name and the rights of the content. So it was not only the BBC it was worldwide.
What amazes me is how much they are paying these celebs to just appear for 30seconds or just have their name mentioned. I mean did Voders earn more or less then she got for IACGMOFH ?

IACGMOFH If that's I'm A Celeb Get Me Out Of Here then yeah probably. If they've got money to spend why not.
But yes, I understand why TG are protecting things like the Stig, or what makes TG, TG, but still, to deny the use of an interview with a celeb is a bit rich, i'd love to see the legal battle if that ever happened, because of how many other places will interview a celeb, equally for things like the conversation bit and others, because I don't know how TG are managing to spin that it's 'TG only'

Regardless, i'll see what occurs in next seasons TG, but fear it's on a slope of decline. Mind you, most TV is moving torwards online now-a-days anyway

Agree with that. Was worse than new top gear. I do hope that was a one off.
There are two such episodes (car light); done to placate those that like the trio, but aren't really fussed about cars (JC's words). With 12/13 episodes a "season" and three years of GT to come, I can see why they'd want to do things a little differently (beyond what the legalites say) and because, beyond what we all want and think, it's not "a car show" any more. It's about three blokes cocking about. :)
