Mustangs in Grand Tour - 18th November Amazon Prime

According to today's Sunday Times, Clarksons's new Grand Tour show starting on Amazon Prime on November 18th will feature 3 x new Mustang's in the inaugural episode. Also featured somewhere in the 12 show run will be "Ford Mustang V8 GT v. Ford Focus RS - Old fashioned Detroit grunt meets European turbocharged trickery. Clarkson and Hammond present the cases for each."

Sorry to bring up an old thread but as a new series of The Grand Tour started again tonight on amazon Prime Video, I figured better than starting a whole new thread.


First episode kicks off with a pilgrimage to Detroit, it’s called ‘Motown Funk’, with the main idea of the show to bring back to life the home of American muscle.

The trio of presenters grab themselves three of the best muscle cars they can find:
Hammond has a Dodge Challenger SRT Demon (840hp)
Captain slow is in a Hennessey Exorcist Camaro, (1000hp)
Clarkson gets a Ford Mustang RTR Spec 3, (with just 720hp)

What follows is the usual drag race, a noise test, a head to head race around a hastily mocked up track, and the culmination battle between good ( the Exorcist) and evil (the Demon) on the airstrip.

Won't spoil anymore for those that have not seen it, save to say Hammond took over an hour and a half to do a quarter mile drag race in the Demon............
