'Cuz £70 is a tank of fuel :shrug:.

Tbf, I watch it legit, but I don't pay for it, so apples and oranges to that!
Did you not say it was your gf's parents account you used? Not sure that counts as legit ;)

It was at their house, on their TV... It's legit. They let you share accounts... totally legit, in terms of what streamed it (Amazon) ;)!

I think 'legit' and Amazon shouldn't be used together, well they're fair game until they start paying their proper UK tax :D

Just as culpable as the 'Scrote drug dealers', they tend not to pay tax either

Watching TV illegally is doing someone somewhere out of a job. The more of this we do, the less we'll see of quality television and film production. It's already happening.

Watching TV illegally...
Putting moral issues aside for a moment, it is not clear that (apart from the certain legal requirement to have a TV Licence to watch live TV) anything illegal is occurring if a private individual views a TV service content without a subscription. It may be a different matter if the TV service content is shared or re-broadcast.

I don't really follow that! Does it mean I'm breaking the law if I post this?

[ame]

I think that's actually your point is that it isn't clear when you're doing something wrong. But basically, If you know you are watching something that you should be paying for, and you're not, or worse, paying someone else for it, then you are probably breaking the law. So some big corporations might lose a few quid? But that ultimately gets passed down to the shop floor where that cost is absorbed by someone losing their livelihood.

I mean they say 'Piracy is effecting artists' but all I see is them with money, it's confusing.

I think it just effects the 'Big corps' profit margins more than anything, hey-ho, never gonna stop it always will be people doing it.

Edit: aware pictures are of Lil Wayne, Conor Mc gregor and Flloyd Mayweather, however FM and CM both have some of the highest rates of 'Piracy streaming' for their fights, and Lil wayne is an adversary against it. Yet, they're multi, multi millionaires.

Piracy generally hurts either the big corps, or, the little guys looking to break it.

Look at the payout at the bottom of the cards

Piracy doesn't effect Conor so much as these guys coming up. You trim their share's lean enough then you'll get attrition to day jobs then the only talent coming up will be trust fund kids.

By the way, a lot of successful bands today make it because of a "sugar relative" that can seed them money during the hard times. Most bands get by on allowances until they finally break big. Very rarely are they Nirvana making a $600 record.. usually it's Interpol which are a bunch of trust fund kids that probably didn't need to work anyway. I'm not knocking Interpol, they're a good band but not every good band can call dad for an extra $1000 bucks if they need it.

It's not the artistes that suffer, it's the people who get them there. (And I don't just mean chauffeurs)!
