Akin's Ford in Georgia is buying 350's from other dealers. I'm speculating, but they are giving 7-9k for the privieledge according to discussions and what they illuded to. They refused 10k, not that I would pay it.

I turned down a GT350 a '16 OW tech pack car last week because they wouldn't come off the $10k ADM.... Not even a cash sale would get them to come off it so screw it I'll wait until the first DIB one pops up used before long and I'll scoop it up for way less than is being paid now. It's a nice car yes, But it's not a car worth $70k no matter how you slice it. It never will be a $70k car no matter what so why would you pay that unless you have bottomless pockets. I have an $82k Z51 that was worth that when we got it but now what's it worth? Maybe $70k on trade. So you buy a $60k Mustang because that's what it is a Mustang for $70k+ then in a year try to trade it because the payments are to high and they give you $50k for it... Then I'll buy it

Yeah since a cars residual value is based on MSRP, paying ADM puts you deep in the hole the second you drive off a dealer lot.
In a year or less there will be plenty of lightly used 350s for sale from people who shouldn't have bought them in the first place. Those that paid a Large ADM will be left with a huge residual. I am looking forward to the dealers who bought above invoice from other dealers getting burned.

I've decided that I'm going to buy one eventually but it's not a car I will buy new. We only bought one of our 3 Raptors new and learned from it. Being an SVT they bring a premium new but you can get them gently used 6 months later since a lot of people couldn't afford to keep gas in them. 9 MPG with a 36 gallon tank gets expensive real quick... Right now it's the newest thing out so people are pinching and borrowing when they shouldn't to own one. Just like cell phones and computers though they'll loose steam quick and something else will come along. Some will trade a 350 for a 500 when they come out and those are the ones to get. They probably weren't driven much.

Congrats to all you fellas that got a 350 at MSRP though. I'm sure you're all enjoying the Hell out of them.

"Some will trade a 350 for a 500 when they come out"

Exactly. If you're a little less insane than the rest, you can wait and buy the thing when the steam is out of the pot.

What happened last time around ? There was the Boss - and the Boss frenzy. Then the 5th gen GT500 - and that frenzy.

Nothing much changes and dealers count on the frenzy. If there weren't such a thing, we wouldn't see ADMs.

So when the 6th gen GT500-class car hits ... prices will come way down on the GT350.

Gaudin is a good example of getting caught ... over priced and over stocked their 5th gen GT350s. When they first started receiving their SAI GT350s, they were charging a 5k ADM on the GT. On a Mustang GT !!!Then the 6th Gen car hit and .... no chance of selling them at anything close to what they paid (I mean, if you believe they didn't get a volume discount for the number of cars they bought from SAI / and or don't have other agreements going with them), although they continue to try.

Fortunately, thanks to social media, they are known for who they are - a dealership that gouges consumers. More so than the average.

Also fortunately, these days, it's possible to buy a car in another state and have it shipped for 800.00 or so via enclosed carrier to your doorstep. Happens all the time. So the dealers with the reputation for being fair ... they will win in the end.

I don't think anybody has said there will "always be ADM". There's a number that the market will bear being sold at prices X, Y, and Z. I think the closest thing people have said that if it's a 2 year run at 10,000 units combined, then they may stay supply constrained. I'm not one of those people though.

It's hard to benchmark this car however. I don't believe other Mustangs have been anywhere near as successful pulling in buyers from other brands, as other threads have suggested it being very popular with Porsche buyers. I think it's safe to say this car has only grown the brand so Boss and GT500 demand comparisons are apples-oranges.

How many GT350s and GT350Rs are they going to produce a year? I don't think I've ever heard a real number.

The realist number out there is 5000/500 per year. But those seem to be targets and not firm numbers, similar to how they produced GT500s.

Seems to be the number that has been circulating for some time now and logical when one looks at the past several MYs of GT500s. Unlikely that Ford would do here what they did with the first year '07s when a similar 5,000 unit projection was "officially" announced and 11,000 were actually built.

We certainly know that in 2015 there were 37 R models and 50 Track Pack and 50 Tech Pack car for a grand total of 137 GT350's built last July.

If a few of the Track Pack or Tech Pack cars have been stolen as indicated that will certainly bring down the total numbers for Track Pack and Tech Pack cars depending on which cars were stolen. I have not heard about any 2015 R models being stolen so far and certainly feel for the enthusiasts that supposedly lost their 2015 50th Anniversary GT350's!

I would suggest that stolen cars will not be replaced so if recent reports are true then the total of 137 will certainly be lower.

As far as the 2016 Shelby GT350/GT350R production numbers it is all speculation at this point but based on numerous conversations that I have had with various Ford personnel the common production number that they all seem to mention is geared towards Boss 302 productions numbers.

Having said that and assuming that Ford follows through with this train of thought that would mean ~750 R models and ~3300 to ~3500 regular GT350's for a total production build of ~4100 to ~4300 units for 2016.

Again the above is all speculation and no use even thinking about 2017 if we can't even figure out 2016 at this point.

From everything I've heard from several dealers, the 5000/500 numbers are set pretty firm. Also, the early indications are that demand will be somewhat higher than that.

You really believe what dealers are telling you and that these production numbers are pretty firm?:headbonk:

With all due respect to most Ford dealers us enthusiasts on this forum know heaps more about these GT350 cars let alone firm production numbers for 2016.

I realize that PP001. The vast majority of dealers are misinformed or uninformed about their own product. The two dealers I know are into performance cars, so they actually make an effort to learn about their cars. I've also seen several recent news articles that claim to have heard the same thing from "inside sources". I was just passing along what I had heard, but I never believe anything till I see it, and sometimes not even then.
