The ECU for the dampening system is a dedicated module. Any other information related to buffering, I/O performance and transfer of information to other onboard systems can be directed to a secondary chipset dedicated to activity monitoring. But, definitely nothing to cause latency that would drop the response times between the ECU and the dampers. Its basically either on of off with different levels of signal strength. So simple its brilliant. No actual moving mechanical parts to break. And not internet... More like a direct conduit. That would be the better decription. Latency is not relevant. In fact the response is almost instantaneous. No layer 3 obstacles, no routing, no relays.

A parallel for the perceived experience would be an audiophile or a videophile. Yes the transitions are well beyond our level of sensory perception, But with experience comes the ability to know that an experience we actually find tangible is better than where it was before the advancements came.

Driving the same track knowing where it will provide feedback that is too soft or too hard and then doing it again in this new system and finding the areas we have been accustomed to feeling a certain way is no longer applicable. That's quantifiable.

that is the most subjective definition of "quantifiable" I have ever heard. If you think the difference between a few milliseconds will impact your personal butt dyno, then by all means, make sure you don't buy a car with an older gen MR system.

Really if it's beyond our ability to measure it with the limitations of our senses... as we both agree then all we're left with is a subjective measurement. And You're likely going to read a lot of those quantifiable measurements in the reviews after all the test drives and head to head comparisons are completed by all our favorite periodicals.

And yes.... typically an enthusiast with very fickle tastes. Will not settle for a first round release of anything. They wait and see....while everyone else serves as their guinea pig.

In our case that will be all the early adopters who buy a 2015 MY release. And provide all the input for improvements by the time the 2016 MY comes out.

Lucky us.

Isn't the 2016 MY production beginning immediately after 2015 finishes? Maybe not right after, but enough to implement drastic changes?

Yes - there won't be time to re-engineer anything unless production is stopped because a truly serious problem crops up. However, there should be a little benefit from the fit-and-finish aspect: I like the idea that the plant workers will be practicing on the 2015s before they start assembling my 2016! :clap2:

Is anyone else surprised that the base R does not come with the auxiliary gauges? The base R is the most track oriented version, which I like the most, but you won't have oil temp and pressure unless adding the electronics pack? Crazies.

You should be able to display that on your dash just by selecting the correct screen. That's what I did when I took my base GT to the track a couple weeks ago. I can understand wanting the dedicated gages, though.

If I were building up a dedicated track car, I'd want to install my own high-quality gauges directly in my line of site - instead of ones in the middle of the dash.

^would you ditch the Magneride in favor of the DSSV as well?

If favor of the DSSV? The only cars I know to have Multimatic's Dynamic Suspension Spool Valve is the Z28 and AMG GT.

^ I ask... because Spa2k mentioned setting it up as a true dedicated track car.

In which case wouldn't the Base GT350 be the better starting platform?
