Look how narrow those back tires are! Even with those I doubt that car was traction limited. Even on ice :cwl:

There was a KING Cobra back then. With a 2-bbl 5.0 and 139 hp.

but hey - no gaps in the history since 64 1/2

while that is a great looking car. and an ok-ish performer, you are so so wrong.

My best friend (who is no longer with us) had one the same color in the late 70s early 80s 351 Cleveland 4 speed with aluminum slots and N50 rear tires. Super badass car for the time. I wish I had some pictures to share. Awesome memories.

It's easy to laugh at the poor old Mustang II, but it was the 3rd best selling Mustang generation ever.

Performance was a dirty word and the buying public wanted comfort and good gas mileage. The II kept the Mustang (and Mach 1) legend alive until real performance came back with the Fox.

Be thankful it existed.
