JB...just a thought. Since the service tech is cautioning on the side of safety by ordering the entire SC assembly due to metal shavings in the "intercooler", what if they check to see if they can get their hands on a new intercooler? If the IC is the only component in the SC that was compromised by shavings, it may solve the problem and get you on the road.

One of the rotors is damaged.

@kilobravo ,The tow truck was one of Those repo style trucks. It’s got the flat plate that just back to the rear wheels and lifts. He only lifted it maybe 4” in rear.I was a little concerned at first, but it worked well. I also only need a tow to a dealership that was approx 1 mile away.

Sounds like you got a good operator. I would've done the same.

Currently 2 dealers in the country show they have one on the locator, but they are on backorder so they probably need them for their own shop. I would assume your dealer's parts department already tried to get these, but you never know. The date off backorder is 4/17 but that may change.

So I got Corwin to part with their supercharger!!! @btown93 thank you so much for your research! Now Ford is saying they can have me one in 5 days. Story on the one in Washington, guy lost engine but is going different rout than stock supercharger, so that part was left over. I was just intrigued that someone else lost an engine?

So the guy is going to forego the factory warranty? I can't see Ford supplying him with a crate replacement motor nor can I see the dealer installing an aftermarket blower unit on his behalf given warranty implications.

I’m 2nd hand source but yes, guy is forgoing his warranty , that’s how they ended up with a brand new supercharger

So said the first engine blew so ford was entitled to warranty the engine, the guy could have or should have took the supercharger too and just sold it afterwards?? But it helped me get my SC’er coming so,,,,,,

There's probably not a chance in hell, but you should inquire about keeping the engine if you pay the core fee.

I would think Ford would have enough interest in figuring out what went wrong that they’d make the core charge ridiculously prohibitive. When we did service on the C4 ZR1 the core charge for the LT5 was more than the catalog price for the engine, which was already almost a 100% markup.

This is the car that I bought. The factory engine dropped a valve or more, Car got a new engine. The original engine was shipped back to Ford. Not sure why anyone said he went with a different S.C.

I would assume it was ordered, but not used because they didn't find the original one damaged.
