I like to disassemble things.
J, were the keepers for the respective valve still in place with the upper portion of the valve stem? Was the retainer still in place?

I find it strange that they didn't get any borescope pictures of the inside of the cylinder showing the piston, valves and combustion chamber. I wonder if it ingested a small part, the nicked SC rotor would suggest that?
You could literally look down the intake port and see the valve just sitting on top of the piston and the stem laying on the head.. I think the fear was a splinter affect or the broken stem. It must not be horrible. Although I’d like to see what damages were found. I left the dealership with all good and 20 min later got a call, I’ll try and get back on Monday. Any pics of the bottom of what that SC’er looks like? I know the routing is different as to keep it lower the the valley?

Tech didn’t pull covers, he was instructed “ no further disassembly.”

Ugh. Then we still don't know if it was a keeper, retainer, spring, or valve alone issue.

Nope, only Ford will get the full story.

No!! I'll be installing a ported stock supercharger with a 105mm TB!!
Very cool. I am curious, did you purchase a replacement supercharger to have ported? If so, why not just send yours to be ported?

Pic of the bottom? I’m just curious as to how something nicked a blade? I thought that it pulled from bottom. Just thinking as said in other reply, did the engine digest some pieces??

The intercooler is between the blower rotors and the intake valves. How could a broken piece get to the rotor?
I'm thinking that nick was always there.

You may very well have the first engine failure of a GT500. You can bet that they will tear that thing apart to determine cause.

However, if the mechanic accidentally left it out back,.... Well, a little black ops mission anyone?
It was not, same issue however. ( All were chassis #'s lower than mine)
