I asked that, and you’re right, not a chance in hell. Lol Ford wants it back, even told tech to halt on any more diss-assembly.
You may very well have the first engine failure of a GT500. You can bet that they will tear that thing apart to determine cause.

However, if the mechanic accidentally left it out back,.... Well, a little black ops mission anyone?

Maybe the second.
Remember the video of that Kona Blue one on YouTube? It had a load knock.

If you get a chance, just peek down the intake ports; the intake valves are the same as the GT350.

@Epiphany
Tob, are the exhaust valves 2 or 3 piece, head, shaft and possibly tip? Is the stem sodium filled?

Hard to make much from that photo other than the valves look to be in position. Isn't that shot from the new engine? No dice on a shot of the affected chamber on your original engine?

I'd like more details too. From the Ford's eSourceBook...

The old engine will be out tomorrow. The tech said that I could get some pictures of the broken valve. Hopefully mid afternoon I’ll post them up

Looking forward to it. If you can, ask him if the keepers were still in place when he pulled the valve cover...

Little difficult to see but there it is in all its pride and glory! An intake valve sitting on top my piston!
Can’t get the engine back and tech not supposed to remove any thing further. So not true root cause will be found out. But delivery is scheduled for Monday!!

Off topic but could these passageways benefit from extrude honing? Asking for a friend?

Thanks for sharing your journey - hope she's back in your hands soon

I don’t think Monday will happen, tech called, found a slight nick in supercharger blade. Have to order that too now. Good time to find before it chewed itself up!

I find it strange that they didn't get any borescope pictures of the inside of the cylinder showing the piston, valves and combustion chamber. I wonder if it ingested a small part, the nicked SC rotor would suggest that?
