Hi all, I've been following this thread pretty closely for the last few days. I've been looking for something to get rid of my frustrations with MFT on my 2015 EcoBoost Premium and this unit is looking very promising. I've also been considering an OEM Sync 3 unit and the update for Android Auto, but the steep pricetag is my main problem with that route.

@PatrickHenninger, provided that your and [MENTION=20219]StangATX[/MENTION]'s tests go well and the unit has no weird quirks or sound quality loss like some of the others, I'd be very interested in purchasing one of the units you would distribute (if that goes through).

Let me know if there's anything you need me to look into with my Premium, I don't think a lot of folks in this thread have one. Thanks again for the work and pioneering of this unit!

Wow! Got up at 2:30 to take a piss and stumbled across this thread... how I missed this is beyond me. I just read all 35 pages and can't go back to sleep!!! THANKS ALOT. I have been trying to get a hold of OEMradio to upgrade from sync 2 to sync 3 but not getting any response. I see he is swamped and that's fine. I may take this route instead.
I love it when people come together and make shit happen. I wonder how the rca out would work for an amped system? So many questions, I can't wait to see a decent video.
The GUI needs some improvement, maybe a sync 3 theme?

@PatrickHenninger, provided that your and @StangATX 's tests go well and the unit has no weird quirks or sound quality loss like some of the others, I'd be very interested in purchasing one of the units you would distribute (if that goes through).

With the recent attitude I have been getting from the guys in China, I don't know that I'll be interested in working with them enough to act as US Distribution, but I have no objections in arranging another group buy. He told me if I get an order of 10 units at once, he would sell them for $540 each. The downside of that is customs would have a field day, and likely tack on some heavy tariffs to an order that large.

Also, I woke up to messages from him saying that the courier service that takes the units from his facility to DHL is backlogged from everyone shipping out orders after the Holidays, and they haven't provided him a tracking number yet. While it DOES make sense, I trust no one, especially someone on the other side of the globe, so I started a claim with PayPal. If we don't have the units here by February 20th, we're getting a refund. (That kinda freaked him out, but he's had too many excuses for delays.) I told him, as long as he has shipped the units, and they arrive prior to 2/20, PayPal will release the funds to him. If they don't show up, we all get our money back, with a little dose of disappointment on top. I hope it doesn't come to that, but I am trying to ensure I am 100% transparent to those with money tied up in this venture.

Yeah he informed me that he shipped my unit when in reality he wrote on ebay, " shipped using economy hongkong shipping". So i questioned him about it and he assured me he would keep his end and send it through DHL express. I waited and every day i asked for the tracking number. By day 3? I believe he finally sent me the airbill for DHL and it was legit but the weird thing is from wednesday all the way until sunday, DHL showed that the package hadnt been dropped off to them. Then on sunday night, ( monday for them) it showed that it not only was picked up but transfered to the cincinatti hub all in one day. I mean i was scared about my order too lol. I still dont know why he marked economy shipping on ebay, and then proceeded to send me the tracking number through messages. I thought that was very weird.

In lighter news, my guy here has said that he'll do any color LED swap and charge no more than $25. The only issue is, we have to wait until I have a unit in my hands to know exactly which LED's to order, so this could potentially add another week before you guys got your units from me- Personally, I don't wanna sit on them waiting for LED's, but we can arrange it so you guys get your units directly from me when they come in, and just mail him the 2 circuit boards for the LED swap.

1. Are you guys paying duty on your units when they arrive?
2. Do you know the quality of sound produced by the radio/receiver like the signal to noise ratio?

The reason I asks about the unit got is rated at 70 signal to noise ratio.

Right the radio is what will determine the sound quality and the signal to noise ration not the android system that's what I meant. The Tesla style unit also replaces the radio correct? they must be very similar.

I don't know if ill pay duty, its still hasn't shipped yet. I don't think I will, but we'll see.

What do you mean by the Rockchip system. is that the radio/receiver?

As I understand it (keep in mind, all 140+ emails back and forth have been in Chinese. I translate his messages, write mine, translate to Chinese, and send) the units have to go via courier from Chongqung to Hong Kong,(just under 700 miles) then they're picked up by DHL, and begin their overseas venture. Yesterday the units went on their way to Hong Kong. If I don't have tracking information by the weekend, I'm taking another step forward with the PayPal dispute.
