Total bummer. Seems like all the upgraded options available seems to have a shit ton of issues one way or another.
I have the Moddiction unit and, while not perfect, it's a 100% improvement over that 2.4" screen.

Also, over on the TomTop thread, those guys are tweaking the code, correcting things that are wrong and making the units much better. If you like to tinker with computers, that may be a low cost solution, at least for the time being.

I know they say "third time's a charm", but I don't think I can stomach the disappointment for a third time. I will let someone else take one for the team.

This guy has it in his and so far he seems to be pretty happy with it (https://www.instagram.com/rubyredrocket_/). As soon as I get over the xmas recoup mountain I am going to pull the trigger on it I think. I have been looking for a Sync2 replacement for a while now and this just fits the bill so much better than what I have been able to find. If anybody has a better replacement option by all means, share it.

Here is the direct link to the head unit.

This has to be the best looking option imho. Only thing I'll throw out there is that both scosche and metra are coming out with dash kits that will allow install of double din units if that's your thing. Anything that gets you free from sync is a step in the right direction.

Doesnt look like hes using it anymore. One of his recent instagram posts shows the factory radio back in place.

My friends stock Honda Civic(2016) has a infotainment system running KitKat 4.4. His system is pretty fluid. Android Auto works well. I wonder where Honda purchased their units at.

He posted in a FB group just a week or so back, about how much he loves the swap. Maybe he posted a older pic that has the Sync.

EDIT: I looked at his instagram and that is an older photo.
I also found a few videos on 5star_pony's instagram with the "I-5 TECH Intelligent Navi and Touch Screen for 2015-2017 Ford Mustang" being used.

Im just torn between either a MFT Sync 2 system or this system, Sync 3 is still to pricey to outsource.
The Scyn2 sucks! Clunky, slow, glitchy, restrictions, nav sucks, ect ect. I have a Sync2 and holy crap I hate it. Do yourself a favor and save the future aggravation and leave the Sync2 alone.

So you wouldnt recommend pursuing a take off set and installing it? It didnt look that bad from the youtube videos i saw lol.
