BAMA and JLT going on tomorrow. Tons of people running BAMA tunes with zero issues, and they didn't give them any different info than I did. So maybe they know something the others don't?I've had 4 different tunes on 2 different 2015 Mustangs GT's and they all needed that info. Actually Lund just needed the last 3 digits of the SWPN code, but then had me check the other info also.
2011-2014 Mustangs the large 4 digit code was all that was needed...the 15's are different.
Check this vid out on how to get that info...
From Beefcake's site...look at the picture of the computer sticker...they (Lund) need the 3 digit code to tune:

From BAMA's site...How to read strategy code (2015 Mustang in pics):
https://support.bamaperformance.com...ow-to-read-a-Strategy-Code-on-Bama-SCT-X4-SF4
But then here they say: 2015 Mustang tunes require Strategy or PCM Part Number Only
http://bama.americanmuscle.com/custom.php
And here they have a pic showing the 4 digit code (scroll down to bottom of page for the 2015):

Maybe BAMA is doing things differently then everyone else...who knows. But if I were the OP I'd want clarification.
Who's tune do you have? I'm assuming BAMA
Charles, I'm not familiar with Mustang, but once I had the exact issue with My previous Z06. It was the Mass Air intake sensor that had broken, which is right before your throttle body and your CAI. This causes the car to behave as exactly you described it. It's either broken or something was not set properly when adding CAI.Dubster99, if you'd be so kind, could you update me via PM or post in this thread about how your car feels after your JLT/BAMA, tomorrow?
Yes, I meant the MAF sensor. When the car shakes, do you see, black smoke coming out? Is it running very rich? Thanks, Z_Rocks. You mean the MAF right? I actually checked it and all looked good. Made sure it was functioning as well, with these steps: unplugged sensor, started car. idle crazy. plugged sensor back in, started car. back to normal.
p.s. My VAC gauge (performance pack) is at a steady 20 during idle.
I'm going to bet you it's somewhere before the throttle body. Perhaps one of the pins in the connectors have broken. PCM is getting wrong data.
I thought in one your posts, you said, when the car is running idle, it shakes. If you're not seeing black smoke coming from exhaust, then it's not running super rich, which the PCM is thinking you're getting a lot of air, so it's pumping a lot of gas.Z_Rocks,
when the car shakes? What do you mean? It doesn't shake. It only shakes when I return the tune back to STOCK. I've done this once just to see if the transferring of data worked with the SCTX4.
Regarding the car running rich, a mechanic told me that could be a possibility. But I don't smell any fumes to think the car might be running rich.
I know man. Trust me I've been there moding cars for 20 years. But no more...Z_Rocks, I appreciate your take on this.
The stress of having to WAIT until Saturday is killing me.
^^^ THIS...and scan the car you have a x4 it does all of these things...I agree it in no way shape or form is it catback or tune. Why can't you datalog?
Let's call a time out right here. Thanks, Z_Rocks. You mean the MAF right? I actually checked it and all looked good. Made sure it was functioning as well, with these steps: unplugged sensor, started car. idle crazy. plugged sensor back in, started car. back to normal.
