SYNC Software Update

There is an update available from Ford Web site that showed up for my VIN (2015 GT with Base audio system).
Has anyone tried the update yet?

I installed it but did not see any improvement with SNYC APP Link. I put Pandora back on my phone but SYNC APP Link still forgets it on a day by day basis so I removed Pandora again. Spotify seems to work pretty consistent but that's the only one so far.

Other than that the only other thing I noticed is that you can now do a setting where SYNC will ask you to confirm with a YES or NO before dialing a contact from phonebook.

Maybe some other benefits will show up but none that I can really see just yet. Might be worth doing though for those of you experiencing SYNC issues.

I installed this update about a week ago. If you have iPhone you can use Siri by pressing and hold voice activating button. Also, when you receive text message you have notification pop up on the screen and you have option to listen by pressing button or use voice command and you can also reply back as well.

I would guess you need to download the update file on a USB Drive plug it in and start the car with the drive installed. SYNC will read it and update.

You have to log into owner.ford.com to download it. You will find all the instructions there.

Khyber: it seems that you have premium package with nav thats probably why you get OTA updates.

I can setup my MFT for wifi, I'm assuming I can download updates of wifi.

well car is signed on to my wifi at home so when it's in the garage it's probably downloading...but updates have just be randomly when I've been out and about though

Go to the Ford owner site and see, mine is updating now and I have a base.

Mine says "Your last update was confirmed on October 14, 2014" and it says "Your SYNC is up to date."

I find it hard to believe that there hasn't been a software update in a year.? My version shows to be EA5T-14D544-AB

Mine says I have an update, but doesn't give me an option to download it...
