Hi,

Anyone using a screen protector on the Sync unit ?

Are they worthwhile - how does the Sync screen hold up to everyday use and cleaning etc ?

If you are running a screen protector, have you gone for a film or the glass type ?

Thanks in advance for any guidance / recommendations etc :like:

Yup, had them on both of my mustangs. I find the screen more responsive with it on. I have the tempered glass type. The only thing to be aware of is it is going to have a very slight bit of coverage that won't make it all the way to the edge, otherwise you wouldn't be able to put it on or get it off. I don't find it noticeable.

Here is the name of the product I got off amazon. (RUIYA 2015-2017 Ford Mustang GT350 Coupe/Hatchback, Sync2 Sync3 8-inch In-Dash Screen Protector)

Unless you have kids throwing things at you dashboard I do not see the need for it. I have them on my phones as they are portable devices and can be damaged. I’ve never had that happen with a car screen. But if it makes you feel more comfortable, go ahead and put one on.

Does this increase the amount of glare in sunny weather?

Not that I've ever experienced. With the nav screen being so low in the car I don't typically get direct sunlight on it as my commute is mostly North/South and not East/West.

I guess now I have a reason to pull the factory "peel here" yellow corner film off. :)
Still need to figure out how to deal with the reflective glare coming off the dash and blinding the mini-LCD between the guages. Just another 1/2 inch or so on the dash overhang would have been quite helpful. I guess Dearborn is so far north they don't get any sun. Heh.
