Question
Can you turn it off, without turning the engine off?
As sometimes I will lose connection to the phone, and only when i have switched sync 3 off and then on again, will it then find the phone again?
On the S197 you could turn the Shaker off

thanks

Hi goldengooner,

I can help with that. If you lose connection with your phone, you can restart your phone or power it off for a minute or two. That normally allows you to connect right back to SYNC.

I have same problem, although not a common problem i do occassionally lose my BT connection. I have to come to a stop, kill the engine and open the door to correct.

Burkcs,

You can always perform a module reset and then connect the phone back with a clean connection. To do so: Select radio > Hold the power button (center of the volume knob) + the right-seek button at the same time for up to 5 seconds.

I have a similar problem. The phone connects and after a minute or so, It disconnects and tells you it's disconnecting. I've got a old Motorola VA76 flip phone, that is listed, and had the car since Dec/2014, with the same phone, but just this last week it's dropping the phone connection, but if you press phone it reconnects, and in a minute it will drop out again.

Hi crazyfreddy,

I recommend checking to see if you have a software update available: https://owner.ford.com/tools/account/how-tos/keep-your-sync-up-to-date.html

I think the problem for me was it was hanging during trying to redownload the phonebook, as I have probably 200+ contacts.

1. Make sure you have the latest Sync version.

2. Clear the radio (Select radio > Hold the power button (center of the volume knob) + the right-seek button at the same time for up to 5 seconds.)

3. Re-pair your phone.

4. Turn off phonebook autodownload. (if you have A LOT of contacts like I do)

5. Manually upload just the contacts that you need. (under manage phonebook) I only upload the contacts that I really want, ie: about 20-30.
